Your laptop is trying to tell you something. Most people aren't listening.
When your laptop gets very hot, the bottom burning, the fan screaming, that's not normal. It's a warning.
Here's what's happening and what to do.
Cause 1. Dust blocked the vents. Fix. Blow out the vents with compressed air. Do it every 6 months.
Cause 2. The thermal paste dried out. Fix. A technician reapplies fresh paste between the CPU and heatsink. A small job, around 3 to 5 thousand naira.
Cause 3. Too many programs running at once. Fix. Open Task Manager, check what's eating the CPU. If something is sitting at 90 percent or more, find it and close it.
Cause 4. Using it on a bed or sofa. Fix. Always use it on a hard flat surface. Soft surfaces block the bottom vents completely and choke the airflow.
Why this matters. A hot laptop throttles itself. It deliberately slows down to protect the hardware. So you're getting maybe 60 percent of the performance you actually paid for, just because of heat.
