Hycenthdavid

In this piece David offers a glimpse into what unfolds in his mind as an artist. David has a complex personality and spends time alone. Separated from family, friends all he has as company are this voices in his head. This piece is all about an interaction with the highest self. Nothing about this piece is planned, just pure intuition.

‘Paradigm shift’ - Neo hyperrealism on paper

“Black Sheep” is a reflection on the sudden transformation of Hycenth David. Greatness demands a shift in behavior and perspective—a paradigm shift. Rebellion, separation, and isolation are just a few aspects of this journey. In this artwork, David offers a glimpse into his state of mind, revealing what unfolds in his silence. His transformation is one of acceptance, expression, and becoming.

HYCENTH × MOBKILISHI I’m proud to join forces with a brand that turns a slice of Northern Nigerian heritage into a global snack ritual. In my search for what is real, Lagos has carried me through crowds, conversations, and quiet nights of reflection. Along that journey, I crossed paths with MOBKILISHI, a brand born from a love of community, a devotion to African culture, and a desire to turn our heritage into something the world can taste.

My upcoming artwork with them celebrates what MOBKILISHI stands for: Africa’s flavours, roots, and bold spirit. Inspired by my journey through Lagos and beyond, a journey of searching for something real, something soulful this piece draws from kilishi’s story. One of tradition, resilience, and the power of shared experiences.

Beautiful people I want you to get ready for something that tastes like home, feels like culture and hits like art!
