AY REVEALS THE HIGH COST OF BOOKING TOP NIGERIAN ARTISTES!
Popular comedian AY Makun has revealed that some Nigerian musicians now charge as much as ₦200 million to perform at comedy shows.
According to AY, the entertainment industry has changed, with many artistes now operating as global stars and earning from streaming, international performances, endorsements and other revenue streams.
He recalled a time when musicians often performed at AY Live through friendship, mutual support and relationships within the entertainment industry. However, he says booking some major artistes today can come with fees of ₦200m, ₦120m or ₦80m.
AY also stressed that comedy shows come with huge production costs, including venues, sound, lighting, screens, security, publicity, staff and comedians.
He urged fans to support comedy for what it is and not judge a comedy show by how many musicians appear on the lineup.

A joint security operation in Lade, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, has reportedly disrupted a cattle-rustling operation.
According to the Kwara State Police Command, personnel from the Police, Nigerian Army, Forest Guards and local vigilantes engaged suspected bandits in a gun battle.
🔴 4 suspected bandits reportedly neutralised
🐄 35 rustled cattle recovered
🔫 A locally fabricated AK-47 rifle recovered
The police said other members of the group escaped into the forest, with some reportedly sustaining gunshot wounds. Security personnel are continuing efforts to track the suspects and recover the remaining cattle.
