Woman who staged own k!dna+piĻg to demand ā¦50m ran$om found in Delta hotel with lover
A married woman identified as Oluchi has been discovered in a hotel in Delta State after allā¬gedly staging her own k!dnap+ing and demanding a ā¦50 million ran$om from her family.
The inĀ¢!dent began when her family reported to the police that she had been abd„¢ted at the Ikpoba Hill area of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area in Edo State. The allā¬ged k!dnap+ers reportedly reduced the ran$om demand to ā¦20 million, while the familyā including her daughter based in Canadaāappealed publicly for assistance to raise the funds.
However, a police investigation later uncovered incon$!stencies in the case, leading operatives to Delta State, where the woman was eventually found in a hotel with her allā¬ged lover.
A source revealed that detectives traced the sĀ„$pectās phone number to a hotel in Ubiaroko, Delta State, where both Oluchi and the man were reportedly found together.
āThe police traced the number of the man to a hotel in Ubiaroko, Delta State. They met the man and the k!dna+ped woman inside a hotel. They called the husband, and he was happy. It was at the station that the police broke the news to him,ā the source said.
It was further gathered that the woman pleaded with her husband not to disclose the true nature of the in¢!dent to their children.
In a video circulating online, her daughter, Anita, who resides in Canada, expressed sho¢k over the development, saying the inc!dent had dev@$tated the family.
According to her, the family had acted in good faith to raise the ran$om, believing her motherās life was in d@Ļger, and had also involved the police from the onset.
"My mum has been released. My mum is involved in this k!dnap+ing case. I only did what I did to save my mom⦠The law will take its course,ā she said.
She added that the family had planned to refund the money raised, noting that none of it had been paid to any k!dna+pers as initially believed.
Meanwhile, the Harmony Ladies Club, a social group to which Anita belongs, distanced itself from the in¢!dent, expressing sho¢k and d!$appointment over the revelation that the k!dna+ping was staged.
In a statement, the group said members had mobilized emotional, logistical, and financial support in good faith, only to later discover the situation had been fabr!Ā¢ated.

I was not involved': Sunday Igboho clears air on Adelabu family rescue
Yoruba Nation ag!tator, Sunday Igboho, has den!ed claims that he led the operation that secured the release of three members of the Adelabu family who were abdu¢ted in Oyo State.
In a statement, Igboho clarified that he played no direct role in the rescue mission, contrary to reports circulating on social media and other platforms.
According to him, the operation was carried out by security personnel who tracked down the k!dnappā¬rsā hideout, rescued the v!Ā¢tims, and arre$ted su$peĀ¢ts linked to the abd„¢tion.
He stressed that credit for the successful operation should go to the security agencies involved, noting that attributing the rescue to him was inaccurate and m!$leading
The clarification follows comments reportedly made by media personality Rufai Oseni, who linked Igboho to the rescue effort. Igboho, however, rejected the claim and urged the public to rely on verified information regarding the in¢!dent.
The rescue of the v!Ā¢tims, who are relatives of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has drawn widespread attention and renewed discussions about security operations in the South-West region.
The successful operation has been welcomed by residents and public officials, with many commending security operatives for their swift response and efforts in securing the v!Ā¢timsā freedom.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the abd„¢tion, while efforts are underway to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori apologises to Nigerians over controvā¬r$ial remarks on abduĀ¢tā¬d Oyo school children
Popular Nigerian gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori has publicly apologised to Nigerians following the b@¢klash that trailed her comments on the abdu¢tion of schoolchildren in Oyo State.
The apology comes amid growing public concern over the k!dn@pp!ng of pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The v!Ā¢tims were abduĀ¢ted during an att@Ā¢k by armā¬d b@Ļdits on May 15, 2026.
The inĀ¢!dent sparkā¬d nationwide outrage after a d!$turbing video allā¬gedly showing the bā¬head!ng of one of the abduĀ¢ted teaĀ¢hers surfaced online. Since then, labour unions, parents, and concerned Nigerians have staged protā¬$ts, demanding urgent action from authorities to secure the release of the remaining v!Ā¢tims.
Reacting to the situation earlier this week, Alaseyori urged Nigerians to continue praying for the safe return of the abduĀ¢tā¬d children and expressed confidence that the government was making efforts to secure their freedom. She also called on citizens to support President Bola Tinubu and security agencies through prayers.
However, her remarks drew cr!tic!$m from several Nigerians, including celebrities, who argued that addressing insā¬cur!ty requires concrete government action rather than relying solely on religious appeals.
Responding to the b@¢klash in a new video released on Wednesday, the gospel singer offered a public apology, explaining that her comments had been taken out of context and were not intended to diminish the pa!n of affe¢ted families.
Good day everyone, I did a video of about one and a half hours two days ago, praying for the k!dn@pped children, grieving families, government parastatals, the military, Nigeria, and everybody in pa!n. But when I woke up yesterday, I discovered that some well-meaning Nigerians are feeling offā¬Ļded because I made them feel unseen or their voices unheard,ā she said.
āYou know me too well that I will never make anybody feel like that. I discovered that the trending video was cut out of the video I made. Mothers, please donāt be aĻgry with me. I beg you in the name of Jesus Christ, you will never burĀ„ your children. I beg you in Godās name, please forgive me if I ever spoke as if Iām insā¬Ļsitive.
Her apology has since generated mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians accepting her explanation while others continue to debate the role of public figures in addressing national security i$$ues.
