Actress Toyin Abraham reje¢ts APC campaign council appointment, gives reasons for her decision

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has publicly reje¢ted her reported inclusion in the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council.

The actress was listed alongside several entertainment personalities, including veteran actor Jide Kosoko, actress Eniola Badmus, Fuji musician Pasuma and other figures in the entertainment industry under the party’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.

However, Toyin has clarified that she is not a member of the campaign council and has no plans to participate in any campaign committee.

Reacting to the development on Thursday, September 17, the same day the campaign council list was released, the actress took to X to address the report and asked members of the public to disregard her inclusion.

Toyin wrote: “I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently, I am staying out of politics.”

Her statement appears to reaffirm her previously stated decision to stay away from political activities, despite her name appearing on the APC campaign council structure.

According to the published list, Toyin was placed under the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, with T**e Benson-Awoyinka named as director, Jide Kosoko as co-director and Eniola Badmus as deputy director.

The APC campaign council is scheduled to be inaugurated on Friday, September 18, at the party’s secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.

Toyin’s public statement has therefore made it clear that, despite her name appearing on the released list, she does not consider herself a member of the campaign council.

Popular Nigerian blogger Tunde Ednut has revealed why he has no plans to buy the newly released iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The blogger made this known in a post shared on his official Instagram page, where he has over 5.4 million followers.

Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its new foldable iPhone Duo, attracting attention from tech enthusiasts and Apple users around the world.

While many users expressed excitement about the new devices, others focused on the design and features of the latest iPhone models.

Tunde Ednut, who currently uses an iPhone 17 Pro Max, said he would not be upgrading to the iPhone 18 Pro Max because he considers the new model too similar to his current device.

According to the blogger, he would rather wait for the iPhone 19 Pro Max and only upgrade when Apple introduces a significant change to the phone’s design.

He explained that even if the iPhone 19 Pro Max retains a similar design, he would be willing to wait until the iPhone 20 Pro Max before changing his device.

Tunde Ednut wrote: “I’m not buying. Na the same thing with 17 pro max.i Will wait for 19 pro max. And if 19 pro max shape no change, I will wait for 20 pro max. I change only when design changes. No be me una go pressure 🤣🤣.”

Popular Nigerian activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has reacted to a coπtrover$ial video involving Senator Sharafadeen Alli and a male student of the Polytechnic of Ibadan, which has sp@rked wide$pread reactions online.

In the video, the senator was seen allowing the student to sit on his lap while he caressed him during the interview, a development that quickly drew attention and criticism on social media.

Following the release of the clip, several Nigerians expressed con¢ern over the interaction, with some cr!tici$ing the senator’s media team for allowing the video to be published. Some social media users also went as far as lab€lling the lawmaker with d€rog@tory terms.

Amid the growing coπtrover$y, VeryDarkMan joined the coπver$ation, raising several questions about what transpired during the interview.

VeryDarkMan wondered why the student could not have remained seated elsewhere during the interview instead of s!tt!ng on the senator’s l@p.

He also drew attention to a statement made by the senator during the interaction, asking why Alli repeatedly said, “Use what you have to get what you want,” while rubb!πg his hands on the student’s l@p.

Taking to his Instagram page, the activist questioned how the young interviewer ended up si+ting on Senator Sharafadeen Alli’s lap in the first place.

The activist further argu€d that the interaction involved two people, noting that while the senator was seen tou€hing the student, the interviewer also remained in the position despite the senator’s actions.

According to VeryDarkMan, if the student was un¢omfortable with the situation, he could have stood up and moved away.

He went on to suggest that the int€raction could have gone further, saying it was only a matter of time before the two men might have ki$$ed.

Popular Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, professionally known as Ogogo, has been laid to rest according to Islamic rites in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State.

Ogogo, who di€d at the age of 66 after b@ttling stage-four can¢er, was bur!ed at the Ilaro Pavilion at about 11am on Monday, August 24, 2026.

The actor’s bur!al was marked by t€ars and gr!ef as his remains were carried to the pavilion for the funeral r!tes.

Veteran actor Alh. Yinka Quadri, who shared a close relationship with Ogogo, was visibly emot!onal and was seen sh€dding t€ars during the bur!al ceremony.

Several Nollywood stars and colleagues were also present to pay their final respects to the late actor. They included veteran actors Prince Jide Kosoko, Femi Adebayo, Muyideen Oladapo Lalaa, Kazeem Adeot, as well as actresses Ireti Osayemi, Toyosi Adesanya and Saje Tiologa, among others.

Family announces burial arrangements for Taiwo Hassan "Ogogo"

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has announced that the remains of his l@te colleague, Taiwo “Ogogo” Hassan, will be laid to rest in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday.

Abvak Update has reported that Kira Taiwo, one of Ogogo’s daughters, announced the actor’s d€ath at the age of 66 during an Instagram Live session on Sunday, following his b@ttle with stage-four can¢er.

The actor’s d€ath was also confirmed by some of his colleagues, including Saidi Balogun, Kunle Afolayan, Odunlade Adekola, Jaiye Monje and Wumi Toriola, who shared tr!butes and condoleπce messages on Instagram.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, Jide Kosoko disclosed that Ogogo’s remains would be taken to Ilaro on Sunday ahead of his burial arrangements.

According to the veteran actor, a special prayer session in honour of the d€cea$ed will be held at the Ilaro Pavilion at 11 a.m. on Monday.

Jide Kosoko wrote; "With h€avy hearts and profound s@dness, we announce the pas$ing of ALHAJI TAIWO HASSAN, popularly known as OGOGO, who pa$$ed away at 3:00 p.m. today Sunday, 23rd August 2026. At 66 years.

His remains will be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State today where special prayers will take place at the pavilion Ilaro tomorrow
