Eleven jurors said she was not a criminal. One said she was. The jury couldn’t agree - so justice got no answer at all.
After seven days of deadlock, the Lindsay Clancy trial ended in a mistrial: eleven jurors believed postpartum psychosis robbed her of criminal responsibility; one held out for first-degree murder. Three children are dead; Cora, Dawson, and Callan, and now a new trial, or a lesser charge, or nothing at all hangs over their mother and their family.
Neither the law nor the system reached a verdict. So who decides what justice is now a second jury, a plea deal, or no one? What does it bode for old and new cases of similar nature?

Today we honour the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), whose life taught humanity to stand with the oppressed, protect the weak, and treat every person with fairness - because justice is a right owed to all, not a favour granted to some.
In a nation as beautifully diverse as Nigeria, let this day renew our shared commitment to peaceful coexistence, respect for one another’s faith, and the protection of every citizen’s fundamental rights. When justice prevails, peace follows.
From the team at Human Rights Foundation Nigeria, may this blessed day bring your families harmony and every blessing. Eid Mubarak. 🌙

Every child is born with rights. Defending these rights is not an act of charity; it is a pursuit of justice.
Behind every statistic related to child labor, early marriage, or trafficking, there is a name, a face, and a future at stake.
Human Rights Foundation Nigeria works to restore balance, one case, one community, and one child at a time.
Children's rights are human rights, and every child deserves dignity, education, and a voice.

She spoke up. She asked for help. She tried to seek justice.
According to reports, 20-year-old Favour Agbor traveled from Warri to Asaba after responding to a mentorship offer from a popular content creator.
She later alleged that she was sexually assaulted, informed her family, sought help, and tried to pursue justice.
If survivors are told to report, speak, and trust the system, then their voices must not be ignored when they do. Favour’s story demands accountability, not silence.

Today, on International Youth Day 2026, we celebrate the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”
Young Nigerians, from Lagos to Maiduguri, face diverse challenges but share a common goal: a Nigeria where justice is a right for all, regardless of class, gender, religion, or ethnicity.
At the Human Rights Foundation Nigeria, we support every young person fighting for justice, free expression, and a platform to be heard.
The future of our nation lies in the hands of the youth who are already shaping it.
