Saturday September 26 – Let me do nothing to arouse Your Anger

They forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed and worshiped various gods of the peoples around them. They provoked the Lord to anger (Judg.2.12)

Anger is generally dangerous and disastrous. It is one of the emotional problems that is better prevented than controlled. If ordinary anger is destructive, how much more of the aroused anger? If human aroused anger is destructive, how much more of God’s aroused anger? The Israelites had a taste of it. They were disabled from total victory, and their enemies became traps and snares to them. They continually raided their land. They were finally sent to captivity in a strange land. Watch your steps so that you do not arouse God’s anger. Pray for the grace of total obedience.

Thought for Today: Divine anger is too dangerous to desire a taste.

O Lord, make my land have rest. Give me the grace of total obedience to Your command. Let nothing disturb the peace between You and me. Let me do nothing that arouses Your anger in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Friday September 25 – Increase my Power to break Confinement

And the Amorites were determined also to hold out in Mount Heres, Aijalon and Shaalbim, but when the power of the house of Joseph increased, they too were pressed into forced labor (Judg.1.35)

The promise of the Lord to His people is to bring them to a spacious place. The enemies always work against fulfillment. This was the case of the Danites and the tribe of Joseph. The Amorites were determined to confine them only to a small piece of land in Canaan. The increase in the power of the tribe of Joseph broke the confined plan. The Amorites were pressed to forced labor. Are there powers and principalities confining you to a small place? You will become stronger than them. Your place will be spacious. No one will be able to block your spacious inheritance. Never relent in prayer to claim the divine promise.

Thought for Today: When your power is increased, the enemies will surrender.

O Lord, make my land have rest. Make my enemies surrender. Make the confining powers and principalities bow before me. Increase my power to break confinement in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Thursday September 24 – Make me become strong

When Israel became strong, they pressed the Canaanites into forced labor but never drove them out completely (Judg.1.28)

The attackers always see themselves as strong and stronger than the attacked. The attacked are always seen as weak. The Canaanites saw Israel as weak and decided to take advantage of them. Their continuous attacks against them built strength in the Israelites that Israel became strong. Israel became strong and stronger than the Canaanites that the Canaanites were pressed to forced labor. Who are those taking you to be weak and kept on attacking you? Their attacks against you will build up the strength in you. You will be stronger than them. Be courageous and never lose stability.

Thought for Today: Every attack is training to be stronger.

O Lord, make my land have rest. Let no attack overcome me. Make me stronger than my attackers. Make me become strong in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Wednesday September 23 – Empower me to take total Possession

The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had iron chariots (Judg.1.19)

The war for total possession is a lifetime. Until the idea of possession is made real, there cannot be rest. The Israelites started the conquest battle from the time of Moses and could not complete it until the time of David. In the struggle to have peace, the Israelites were misled by the people they could not totally uproot during the conquest. This led to their captivity and the battle for total possession continues till date. The people they tolerated made total possession difficult and kept drawing them back from fulfilling their mandate. Who and what do you tolerate in your life? Pray against the tolerance that draws you back.

Thought for Today: The people we allow in our lives either make or mar us.

O Lord, make my land have rest. Give me total victory. Strengthen me to victoriously fight at once. Empower me to take total possession in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Tuesday September 22 – Do me special Favor

She replied, "Do me a special favor. Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me also springs of water." Then Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs (Judg.1.15)

Having double blessings is a product of favor. Caleb showed special favor to his daughter. He gave her land and the spring of water. The daughter requested a special favor and her father granted her. Land without water is a desert. It is wild and that is why it is called wilderness. What do you have that needs partnering with what you don’t have before it can function effectively? Ask the Lord for special favor as a child asks the father. The Lord is your heavenly Father that has everything at His disposal. He will not deny you.

Thought for Today: Everything is under the control of the heavenly Father.

O Lord, make my land have rest. Support me with everything needed for my satisfaction. Connect me to abundance. Do me special favor in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
