In his address, the executive President whose message was read by the Deputy President commended the commitment, sacrifices and resilience of the PSW Branch of NUPENG, he further admonished the leadership and members to put the interests of the Union above any personal interest and uphold principles of service, accountability and dedication to the welfare of members.
Also present or represented in solidarity were the National Branch Chairmen of LPGAR- Comrade Ayobami Ola Olarinoye, IMB- Comrade Oluleye Olayemi Elisha, OGS- , ELD- Aderibigbe Rafiu Adekola, PTD (Represented), who all delivered goodwill messages on behalf of Branches.

At the end of the free, fair and successful elections, Comrade Alamu Adebayo was returned elected unopposed as National Branch Chairman of the PSW Branch of NUPENG alongside the following executive members of the Branch:

NUPENG PRESIDENT HOLDS CRUCIAL MEETING WITH LAGOS, WARRI ZONAL LEADERS OVER ANTI-UNION POSTURE OF CHEVRON CONTRACTORS

NUPENG Tower, Lagos

The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), led by the Executive President, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti, today convened a high-level strategic meeting with the Zonal leadership of the Lagos and Warri Zonal Councils of NUPENG.

The emergency session was primarily convened to address the escalating welfare crisis and persistent anti-union practices by the managements of over thirty (30) companies operating under the Chevron Nigeria Limited-Contractors. The Union expressed deep concern over the continuous violation of workers' rights, non-adherence to extant labour laws, and the deliberate undermining of collective bargaining agreements.

A seven(7)-Days Ultimatum has been issued by the Union to CNL and its Contractor companies who are urged to immediately end all anti-union actions and respect workers' rights or face consequences.

The NUPENG leadership remains resolute in its commitment to protect the interest of its members and will not tolerate any form of exploitation or union-bashing by any contractor or multinational oil company. All members are urged to remain calm, vigilant, and united as the Union takes decisive steps to resolve the impasse.

Last week, from 18th to 22nd August 2026, the beautiful city of Abuja played host to a landmark moment in Nigeria's oil and gas industry. The 5th PENGASSAN Energy and Labour Summit (PEALS 2026) convened an extraordinary assembly of government dignitaries, regulatory bodies, industry operators, investors, and organised labour—all united under the theme:

"Strengthening Regulatory Frameworks as a Catalyst for Stability and Growth in Nigeria's Oil and Gas Industry."

The summit was not just a convergence of minds; it was a celebration of democracy and labour unity. The high point came at the historic First Quadrennial National Delegates Conference, where a new national leadership emerged to steer the affairs of PENGASSAN into a brighter future.

At the helm of this new era is Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, who was duly elected as the National President of PENGASSAN—a testament to the trust and confidence of the delegates.

Standing firmly in solidarity with our sister union, the leadership of NUPENG was ably represented by:

NNPC LIMITED GROUP EXECUTIVE COUNCIL (GEC) OF NUPENG SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES ITS 6TH QUADRENNIAL DELEGATES' CONFERENCE IN ABUJA

In accordance with the democratic traditions and constitutional provisions of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), the NNPC Limited Group Executive Council (GEC) of the Union organised and successfully concludes its 6th Quadrennial Delegates' Conference held at the Dome Hall, Top Rank Hotel Galaxy, Utaka, Abuja with the theme “Strengthening labour-management collaboration for sustainable growth of the Nigeria’s oil and gas industry”.

The occasion, which brought together key stakeholders in Nigeria's oil and gas sector, was chaired by the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, who was represented by Mr. Kazachiyang Nuhu, Chief Human Resources Officer at NNPC Limited Corporate Headquarters. In his address, Mr. Nuhu commended the NUPENG GEC and the National leadership of the Union for their exemplary cooperation and disciplined approach to industrial relations. He reassured the Union of the management's unwavering commitment to open dialogue, emphasizing that channels of communication remain accessible for mutual engagement anchored on trust and respect. He further urged delegates not only to participate in the electoral process but also to remain united beyond the elections for the collective good of the company and the nation.

Delivering his remarks, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti, Executive President of NUPENG—ably represented by Comrade Akinwole Ebenezer Oladejo, Deputy President—applauded the NNPC Limited management under Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari for fostering a culture of industrial harmony that has set a benchmark in the oil and gas industry. He also paid tribute to the outgoing NNPC Limited NUPENG GEC for their exemplary, blemish-free tenure, describing their leadership as worthy of emulation.

In his address, Comrade Baba Usman Kaumi, outgoing Group Chairman of the GEC, reflected on the journey of the past four years. He extended heartfelt appreciation to the management of NNPC Limited, the past and present leadership of NUPENG, and his colleagues for their unwavering support, guidance, and cooperation, without which their achievements would not have been possible.
A pivotal moment of the conference was the presentation of a paper by Mr. Sulaiman Sulaiman, Manager of Employee Relations at NNPC Limited Corporate Headquarters. He spoke on the theme “Strengthening Labour-Management Collaboration for Sustainable Growth and Industrial Harmony in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Industry”
He concluded his insightful presentation with this his quote “harmony is not the absence of disagreement. It is the presence of dialogue”.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
In a spirit of appreciation, excellence awards were presented to distinguished dignitaries who graced the event, including management representatives and union leaders such as the GCEO NNPC Limited, EVP-Business Services NNPC Ltd., Mrs. Mbakwe Sophia, Executive President of NUPENG, Acting General Secretary of NUPENG, outgoing GEC Chairman, and several others.

NEW GROUP EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ELECTED
The business session of the conference saw the election of a new Group Executive Council leadership. Comrade Paulosa O. Paulosa from NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) emerged as the new Group Executive Council (GEC) Chairman, alongside other newly elected council members.

It was a moment etched in the annals of labour history today as the newly elected National Executive President of NUPENG, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti, led a powerhouse delegation of Union leaders on a landmark courtesy visit to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the State House, Abuja.
The high-stakes meeting was not just a courtesy—it was a coronation of solidarity. In a powerful display of national recognition, Comrade Oladiti conferred the prestigious Grand Patron Award on His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, symbolizing the unwavering partnership between the Labour force and the Presidency.

The Nigeria Pipelines and Storage Company (NPSC) Limited Branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) convened its 6th Quadrennial Branch Delegates Conference at the Dome Hall, Top Rank Hotel Galaxy, Utako, on Thursday, 30th July 2026, in a landmark event marking a new chapter for the branch.

The epoch-making gathering witnessed the presence of the Union's Executive President, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti, alongside distinguished Union leaders including Comrade Otite Onohwohwo, Acting General Secretary; Comrade Baba Usman Kaumi, National Treasurer/NPSC Branch Chairman; Comrade Abdullahi Haruna (63), Chairman-NUPENG Kaduna Zone; Comrade Solomon Kilanko, National Ex-Officio, and Comrade Lawrence Alabala, Admin Head Kaduna Zone.

In his goodwill message, Comrade Oladiti lauded the management of NNPC/NPSC for fostering mature and constructive industrial relations, significantly reducing the need for direct Union intervention in branch negotiations.

The conference culminated in a peaceful election, ushering in a new 12-member executive team to lead the branch for the next four years. Comrade West Bereibibo Blessing emerged as Branch Chairman, with Comrade Kamba Abubakar Mohammed as Vice Chairman, and Comrade Yunana Emmanuel O. as Branch Secretary.

The new leadership also includes Comrade Obo Ngedo Galas as Branch Welfare Officer and Comrade Onyebuchi Sunday Reginald as Branch PRO, faces the responsibility of navigating the rapidly transforming oil and gas industry while prioritizing workers' rights and interests.

The outgoing leadership was commended for their selfless service and blemish-free stewardship over the past four years.

NUPENG LEADERSHIP ENGAGES CHEVRON MANAGEMENT IN STRATEGIC WORKING VISIT

Lekki, Lagos – July 20, 2026

In a landmark move to strengthen labour-corporate relations, the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), led by its Executive President, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti, undertook a strategic courtesy and working visit to the headquarters of Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) in Lekki, Lagos.

The high-powered NUPENG delegation, which received a warm reception from Union members on the ground, comprised prominent Union leaders including Deputy President, Comrade Akin Oladejo; Acting General Secretary, Comrade Otite Onohwohwo; National Auditor, Comrade Leke Adepegba; and Adviser (Informal)/PTD National Chairman, Comrade Mathias O. Ote; National Security Coordinator, Comrade Alhaji Saheed Gbolahan Adigun. Also in attendance were Lagos Zone Chairman, Comrade Olayemi Samuel; Vice Chairman, Comrade Dr. Babalola Obisola; SAGS/Admin. The National Executive President of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti, today paid an official courtesy visit to the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Muhammed, mni, at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting reinforced NUPENG's commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with key government agencies, particularly those directly impacting the safety and welfare of petroleum workers and the general public. The atmosphere was cordial, with both leaders expressing a shared vision for a safer, more efficient road transport system in Nigeria.

In his welcome address, Corps Marshal Shehu Muhammed extended heartfelt congratulations to Comrade Oladiti and the entire NUPENG executive on their successful emergence following the peaceful 6th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference held in April 2026. He wished them a productive tenure and noted that the President's visit came at an opportune moment.

The Corps Marshal revealed that the FRSC is currently strategising with all stakeholders to strengthen existing partnerships, with plans to culminate later in the year in a series of workshops and training programmes.
