Workplace safety goes beyond policies, procedures, and compliance checklists. It also depends on whether the people around us know how to respond when an emergency occurs.

We can't get over last week training where 25 staff members of the Ministry of Education participated in HEI's First Responders Training, gaining practical knowledge and confidence to take action during critical situations before professional help arrives.

Preparedness is not a role reserved for healthcare workers. It is a skill that strengthens every workplace, every institution, and every community.

We appreciate the Ministry of Education for investing in a safer and more prepared workforce. of education

Emergencies can happen anywhere, but the ability to respond effectively is something that can be built.

Today, Verraki staff are learning skills they may only need once—but that one moment could mean the difference between panic and action, or even life and de$th.
Through partnerships like this, more workplaces and communities can gain access to life-saving training.

If your organization is exploring meaningful CSR opportunities, we'd love to start a conversation about bringing similar initiatives to more people.

This wasn’t just a conversation about emergency response.

It was a decision point that continued to shape how lives are protected today.
What started as alignment between partners has grown into a working system of response, training, and action.

HEI remains committed to strengthening that chain, because every improvement compounds into lives saved.

Throwback to when Mr Paschal Achunine joined ACTPod for an eye-opening conversation on Nigeria’s emergency response gap and the realities that shape how we react in crisis situations.

“The natural default of most Nigerians when something goes wrong is to take pictures and videos for social media.” — Paschal Achunine

In the episode, he unpacked why our first response in emergencies is often not the one that saves lives, and what it would take to shift from observation to action when every second counts.
