I know we are beginning to sound like a broken record.
But there’s no skin care without sunscreen guys. Really.
The depleting ozone layer is not your friend!
Black or not! African or Cuacasian! Having abundant melanin doesn’t exempt you from getting harmed by excess UV radiation!
Your parents were not exposed to the type of UV rays you are exposed to currently due to the depleting ozone layer, So stop with that “our fathers didn’t use sunscreen” excuse already.
Most sunscreen now come in moisturizing consistencies so the excuse of not wanting to apply a lot of products on your skin has been eliminated, your sunscreen can serve as your basic moisturizer (in other words, ‘face cream’).
SPF 50+ is our go to in this part of the world
For those of you who wanted to see more of lasers, here you go.

Please dears stop with the coconut oil use already.
It’s completely astounds me when clients come into my office to say they are still using “coconut oil “ on their face! In the year 2021? No now.. com’on! Please stop it.
I’d say this and say it once
COCONUT OIL DOES MORE HARM ON YOUR FACE THAN GOOD!
Firstly it is an alkaline based substance and you skin is ACIDIC by nature, this means coconut oil would mess with you skins natural pH level leading to dysbiosis of your skin’s natural microbial biome
Secondly It is has large molecules making it super slow to get absorbed into your skin hence it forms an occlusive barrier over you skin (in plain English, it is like putting a plastic bag over your skin). This means your skin suffocating your skin, it wouldn’t ‘breath or detoxify as well as it should.
Please dear, coconut oil is ‘comedogenic’ hence can lead to formation of comedones (whiteheads).

Lactic acid is an AHA
Lactic acid is specifically used to treat hyperpigmentation, age spots, and other factors that contribute to a dull and uneven complexion. Other benefits of AHAs like lactic acid include improved skin tone and reduced pore appearance. However, unlike AHAs such as glycolic acid, lactic acid is a bit milder.
Lactic acid helps improve the skin's natural moisture factor, or the way the skin keeps itself hydrated. Basically, lactic acid helps to keep the skin moisturized and feeling less dry. When you use lactic acid regularly, it can also improve signs of aging. It stimulates collagen renewal and can firm your skin.
Some of my favorites are 1. purity clean
lactic acid
the ordinary lactic acid

Pregnancy and breastfeeding come with their own sets of pain and joy,
especially the pain of skin changes. Most women are worried about the changes their skins might make during and after pregnancy and to be fair, those fears are understandable..
However with proper preparation in a proper routine we can minimize many of the skin “changes’ that plague pregnant women .
The best preparation is to have a good routine even before pregnancy!
To be forewarned is to be fore armed they say.
However even if you don’t have a good routine prior to pregnancy, starting a good routine during pregnancy would do your changing skin a lot of good.
The most common skin plagues during pregnancy are acne, hyperpigmentation and dryness.
In this post I have helped you narrow down active ingredients that you could lookout for to help..
Others conditions are
1. PUPPP - itchy raised patches on or around stretch marks - some low dose topical steroids and itch relieve creams could help with this as prescribed by your medical specialist
2. Stretch marks (striae distensae or gravidarum)- these are common during pregnancy. Some people are more predisposed to getting them as a result of genetic factors than others. They generally form when your skin stretches apart too quickly due to rapid weight gain. Therefore the most sensible way to avoid stretch marks during pregnancy is to control weight gain by controlling what you eat (sorry but this is the best way). Secondly is to stay hydrated. Stretch marks form faster and better on a dry skin than a properly hydrated soft supple skin. So drink water and use topical hydrating and soothing lotions. They are so many other ways to avoid them but these two are the definitely the top on the list.
Note how you didn’t see some of your favorite activities ingredients on the routine list? Like retinoids, hydroquinone and benzoyl peroxide? It’s because they are generally not acceptable to be used during pregnancy.
Retinoids and hydroquinone are a NO NO!
Benzoyl peroxide in regulated percentages can be used only as prescribed by your dermatologist and medical experts..
For more personalized information.. schedule for a consultation 😁😂
