NOT EVERY BUMP IS ACNE: Today let's talk about ROSESEA.

Ready.... 🤓
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition, usually affecting the face. It can cause flushing, persistent redness or brown/violet discoloration, burning or stinging, visible blood vessels, and sometimes acne-like bumps. It can also affect the eyes.

What causes rosacea 🤔
The exact cause is not fully understood. Current evidence points to a combination of inflammation, immune-system activity, blood-vessel changes, genetics and environmental triggers.

Common flare-up triggers include:

☀️ Sun exposure
🔥 Heat and overheating
🌶️ Spicy foods
🍷 Alcohol
☕ Hot drinks
😓 Stress
🏃 Intense exercise
🌬️ Very hot, cold or windy weather
🧴 Irritating skincare or cosmetics
*Triggers vary from person to person.*

Treatment ⛑️
There is currently no cure, but rosacea can usually be controlled and flare-up reduced.

1. Gentle skincare 🧴
Use a gentle, non-irritating cleanser.
Moisturize regularly to support the skin barrier.
Avoid harsh scrubbing, strong fragrances and products that sting or burn.
Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen every day; SPF 30+ is recommended.

2. Prescription treatments:
Depending on the type of rosacea, a dermatologist may prescribe:
Metronidazole, Azelaic acid, Ivermectin,
Low-dose doxycycline
Brimonidine or oxymetazoline for persistent facial redness
Other medications depending on the symptoms.

3. Laser/light treatment Laser or IPL :
Can be used for persistent redness and visible blood vessels when appropriate.

4. Eye involvement:
If rosacea affects the eyes, it needs medical attention. Painful or red eyes, blurred vision, light sensitivity or a gritty sensation warrant prompt medical assessment.

🔔Important advice
Repeatedly treating it like ordinary acne—especially with irritating products—can make sensitive skin worse. A dermatologist can distinguish rosacea from acne, dermatitis and other conditions that can look similar.

Simple rule: Identify the trigger, protect the skin barrier, protect against the sun, and use recommendations.

Take this advice seriously 😶Feed your skin FOOD from the inside as well as from the outside.
Remember, if you cannot eat it, don't use it ‼️

The same way we eat junk and our bodies suffer for it is the same way our skin will suffer if we apply junk on it.

Having a healthy lifestyle is wholistic. Don't compromise on anything. Balance is key 🗝️

Feed your skin well and age well ❤️‍🩹

Not every bump, spot, or pustule is acne. Several skin conditions can look very similar to pimples, especially on the face, chest, back, buttocks, and hairline.
Skin conditions commonly mistaken for pimples is folliculitis.

Folliculitis is an Inflammation/infection around hair follicles that can produce small red bumps or pus-filled spots.

Treatment for folliculitis depends on what is causing the inflamed hair follicles—usually bacteria, yeast, friction, shaving, sweating, or occlusion.

Simple treatment approach

🦠 Mild bacterial folliculitis: Keep the area clean and avoid shaving/picking. A benzoyl peroxide wash may help. A clinician may prescribe a topical antibiotic such as mupirocin or clindamycin when appropriate.

🦠Yeast (Malassezia) folliculitis: Antifungal treatment such as ketoconazole may be needed. It often looks like many small, similar, itchy bumps, especially on the chest, back, shoulders, or forehead.

🦠Shaving/friction-related: Stop shaving temporarily, avoid tight clothing/gear, reduce sweating and friction, and use a clean razor when shaving again.

🦠More severe or recurrent folliculitis: A healthcare professional may need to identify the organism and prescribe oral antibiotics or antifungals.

🔔Important: Folliculitis can look very similar to acne, but the treatments are not always the same.

If the bumps are painful, deep, spreading, repeatedly returning, leaving scars, or accompanied by fever, get medical assessment.

Here are 5 common mistakes people with acne often make without realizing they’re making things worse:

Ready 🤓

🚨Over-cleansing the skin
Washing your face repeatedly because it feels oily can strip the skin barrier, increase irritation, and make acne care harder—not better.

🚨Using too many acne treatments at once
Mixing several strong actives—such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, retinoids, scrubs, and exfoliants—can overwhelm the skin and cause irritation.

🚨Skipping moisturizer because the skin is oily
Oily skin still needs hydration. Avoiding moisturizer can leave the skin dehydrated and uncomfortable, especially when using acne treatments.

🚨Picking, squeezing, or popping pimples
What feels like "helping" a pimple can increase inflammation and raise the risk of post-acne marks and scarring.

🚨Changing products too quickly
Trying a new product every few days because you don't see immediate results can prevent you from knowing what actually works—and can continually irritate your skin.

The bigger mistake? Treating acne based on assumptions instead of understanding what your skin actually needs.
REMEMBER 🔔
Acne care is a science: no guessing, no wishful thinking—follow the science.

Do you have these 5 Visible Signs?

Let's check ✅

1️⃣ Your skin still looks firm and resilient
It may not be as tight as it was in your 20s, but healthy ageing skin tends to retain good elasticity and bounce.

2️⃣Your skin tone remains relatively even
Fewer new dark spots, persistent redness, or uneven patches can indicate that your skin is being well protected and maintained.

3️⃣Fine lines appear gradually, not suddenly
Some fine lines are a completely normal part of ageing. Healthy skin generally develops them progressively rather than becoming suddenly rough or deeply creased.

4️⃣Your skin maintains a healthy glow
Skin that looks smooth, hydrated and naturally radiant—even without makeup—often has a well-maintained skin barrier.

5️⃣Your skin recovers well from everyday stress
Minor dryness, irritation or blemishes settle relatively quickly instead of leaving prolonged redness, sensitivity or discoloration.

The goal isn't to look younger than your age. Healthy ageing means your skin remains strong, hydrated, resilient and well cared for as it naturally changes.

So how many did you Check ✅✅✅✅✅

⚠️ If you do not add sun protection as part of your daily skin care routine, in the next 5-10 years, you will not like the way you will look.

The way you go woh-woh ehn 🤣🤣🤣 All the 💄 makeup in Paris will not be able to cover it.
Your collagen structure will fall yakata 🫣 your skin texture will thicken like old leather, and your complexion look like a mosaic art work in Tate modern🫣

WARNING
I'm laughing but I'm serious 😐😶 Don't joke with sun protection.
My sister, my brother, age well ❤️‍🩹
