Better informed decisions start with better conversations.
And sometimes, the best conversations are the ones that give you a new perspective, answer a question you’ve been thinking about, or simply get you thinking.
That’s the idea behind The Blue Side, FSDH’s podcast where we bring together conversations across different topics, featuring members of the FSDH community and guests with experiences, perspectives and stories worth sharing.
The Blue Side will have different series, each exploring a particular area. And we’re kicking things off with The Wealth Side.
For Episode 1, Kemi Olatunji, Senior Wealth Manager at FSDH Merchant Bank, sat down with Margaret Agbonlahor, Senior Vice President at FSDH Asset Management, to discuss The Biggest Mistakes Wealthy People Make with Their Money.
From wealth preservation and diversification to lifestyle, succession planning and professional advice, there was plenty to unpack. And from these moments, it’s clear there was plenty of fun to be had too.
Here’s a look at some moments from the session.
We will be sharing highlights from the conversation soon. Turn on post notifications to get notified.

We were honoured to participate in the Grand Reception hosted by the St. Gregory’s College Old Boys Association (SCOBA), an evening celebrating distinguished Gregorians whose contributions continue to make an impact across various sectors.
The event also marked the launch of the ₦25 billion St. Gregory’s Old Boys Association Endowment Fund, established to support the continued development of the school. FSDH Merchant Bank has been appointed as the Custodian Bank to the Fund.
Representing FSDH Merchant Bank were our Managing Director/CEO, Bukola Smith; Executive Director, Corporate Banking & Branches, Stella-Marie Omogbai; and Head, Global Custody, Osamuede Fadaka, who joined an esteemed gathering of alumni, business leaders and stakeholders.
The event also featured the recognition of accomplished Gregorians, including the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso, and the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Tunji Disu, among other distinguished honourees. Their recognition underscored the enduring legacy of leadership, service and excellence that St. Gregory’s College continues to inspire.
At FSDH Merchant Bank, we value opportunities to support institutions and communities that invest in building a lasting legacy.

As we step into our sixth year, we’re thinking beyond what has already been built and towards what can outlive the moment.
Stay with us as we unveil more about WIBI summit 2026 in the coming days.

We may not hear her voice, but Mother Earth has been speaking.
She’s speaking through rising temperatures, polluted air, disappearing forests, plastic waste and water under pressure. The signs are all around us, and they’re becoming harder to ignore.
Every year, we set aside a week at FSDH Merchant Bank to reflect on our impact on the environment and the role we can play in protecting it.
This year, we’re taking a closer look at what these signs are telling us and how our everyday choices contribute to the world we live in.
Awareness only matters when it leads to action. Mother Earth is speaking. Let’s pay attention and take deliberate action.
Together, we achieve more.

FX shapes pricing, margins, working capital and the capacity to fulfill orders for import-dependent businesses. The combination of FX management, trade finance, and appropriately structured working capital helps businesses navigate currency movements while keeping underlying operations moving.
Nigeria's disinflation story is gaining traction- 15.39% in August, down from 15.91% in June. The Naira is trading at about ₦1,329/US$ in the official market, external reserves just hit an almost 18-year high of $54.61bn, and GDP growth accelerated to 4.43% in Q2.
On paper, the case for cutting rates has never looked stronger this year.
But a fresh spike in petrol prices, campaign-season spending ahead of 2027, and a less friendly global rate environment complicate the picture.
So which way does the CBN's MPC lean when it meets on 21-22 September- hold firm at 26.5%, or finally start easing?
Our FSDH Research Team breaks down the data, the risks, and our call on where rates are headed next in the latest Pre-MPC Update.
