Young families is a voluntary organization that supports teenagers who are pregnant or with babies. They work in partnership with the teenager and their parents to provide encouragement and help in time of difficulties relating to the unplanned child. The level and length of support will depend on the teenager's wishes combined with available resources and funding. Young families offer different types of support which includes emotional and social support through friendship, mentoring and parenting training. they may also be able to offer limited financial assistance to the teenager's parent who may be experiencing additional hardship of providing for their teenager with child. This help might include contributing towards the rent, food, clothing and antenatal & post natal care. The teenager might also need to undergo training in order to be able to establish a livelihood.
