A Nigerian groom named Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya cancelled his wedding to his fiancée, Gift Oriaku, just one day before the event, citing sudden and "irreconcilable developments".
Attention Please‼️‼️‼️
Cancellation of Marriage.
I, Mr Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya wishes to use this medium to inform the general public that the wedding between myself, Mr Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya and Miss Gift Oriaku slated to hold tomorrow, Saturday the 19th Day of September 2026 has been called off due to irreconcilable developments that just arose.
I sincerely regret and apologize to everyone for any inconveniences this may have caused and I appeal that the public should pls bear with me even as I implore your continued prayers and support.
May God bless everyone.
Signed:
Mr Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya.
N.B:
Pls it is my Younger Brother Mr Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya that cancelled his wedding not me, The Revd Isaac Ekechukwu Ogbonnaya.
Pls be properly informed and guided 🙏
Promise Umezurike Gives Reason For The Cancelled Wedding
For clarity Purpose before you guys start judging us to be the cause of cancelling the wedding
the elder brother to the bride called the groom 3days to the wedding and demanded that the wedding be postponed to December, a wedding that was just 3 days away, that the money they want to use and buy things they will use to duo la their sister ulo he couldn't afford it and that he requested for their uncle's help but that the uncle said he went to USA for vacation and so requested that the wedding be postponed because he wanted to be physically present at the wedding.
My brother pleaded and told them that it would not be possible to postpone the wedding as it was already too late to do that and given the fact that everything and all the vendors has been paid, but they insisted and the girl supported her family, after every plea fell on deaf ears, my brother said he wasn't going ahead with both the wedding and the marriage anymore.
Our question.....
what's has idu ulo g*t to do with already planned wedding.
If the Uncle really loves the family can he still support bride in the idu ulo. even in his absence. Must he be present before he support .his lovely family
Thirdly don't the parents have to say in their daughters marital issues
Fourthly why the bride support her family ordeal 100 percent.kmowing fully well that she doesn't belong there again.immediately the bride price had been paid.
Another one what concern wedding with marriage...if the traditional bride price had been paid you are married ., you are married so why didn't the Uncle do the idu ulo before travelling since the traditional rites had been done and the idu ulo is still under traditional way.
Then the groom my brother I know you spent money a lot of cash..but cant something be done to resolve this ...since you are married already ..because this is divorce not cancellation..please I want that marriage to hold....that girl might be under a spell, or something else, she might not know what is going on.
No human being that will not like to prosper maritaly let's look at the other side of the box...it's not too late ...many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivereth them from them all
Nothing good comes easy...
Anger, temperament, blames, arguments, and even social media cannot solve our problem let's go back to bethel our place of worship and reason together for a way forward.

New Network Provider Lebara Commences Operations In Nigeria.
Nigeria’s newest telecommunications operator, Lebara, has commenced commercial operations nationwide, opening its mobile services to customers as it seeks to carve out a position in the country’s increasingly competitive telecoms market.
The company disclosed this in a statement on Monday, saying Nigerians could now obtain its SIM cards through participating retail locations and registered agents, while completing Know Your Customer verification remotely through its My LebaraNG application.
Customers can choose between physical SIM cards and eSIMs, with the company also offering in-person onboarding through its retail network, including Slot stores where Lebara agents are available.
The development marks the transition of Lebara from regulatory approval and market preparation to full commercial availability for consumers, several months after the brand began preparations to enter Nigeria as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator.
"We are excited to officially go live and make Lebara SIMs available to Nigerians.
This is an important step for us as we begin to bring our services directly to customers,” the Chief Executive Officer, Lebara Nigeria, Teniola Stuffman, said.
“Our focus is on making connectivity simple and accessible while building digital experiences that give our customers more value,” she added.
Lebara said more than 1,000 registered retail agents were already part of its distribution network, as it continues to expand the channels through which customers can access its services across the country.
Lebara said its initial offering would include mobile voice, SMS and data services, alongside transparent usage tracking, cloud storage, Buy Now, Pay Later options for eligible devices and access to LebaraPlay, its mobile entertainment platform.
The company is positioning the service around affordability and reliability as competition intensifies in Nigeria’s mobile market, where established operators, including MTN Nigeria, Airtel Africa’s Nigerian unit, Globacom and 9mobile, serve more than 150 million active lines.
Unlike those conventional mobile network operators, MVNOs can enter the market by using infrastructure provided by existing network operators, allowing them to compete through pricing, distribution, customer experience and specialised digital services without replicating the heavy capital expenditure required to build a nationwide radio network.
Lebara’s Nigerian operation is linked to VAS2Nets Telecommunications Limited, which holds a Tier 5 MVNO licence issued by the Nigerian Communications Commission. The NCC’s licensing framework allows MVNOs to provide telecommunications services using the infrastructure of host mobile network operators.
The licence commenced in March 2024, while Lebara and VAS2Nets publicly announced their brand-licensing partnership in May that year. Lebara subsequently unveiled its 0724 number series as part of preparations for commercial operations and held a soft launch in Lagos in February 2026.
The latest rollout therefore represents the transition from market preparation and testing to full commercial availability.

UK Students Skipping Meals & Getting 2nd Jobs To Meet Living Costs" - Report.
The government has been urged to ensure any student loan reforms include increasing maintenance funding to help tackle the cost-of-living crisis facing current students.
Students are missing meals and balancing multiple jobs because financial support provided through maintenance loans is failing to cover basic living costs, a report has warned. Any upcoming government reforms to student finance should explicitly include boosts to maintenance funding to assist students struggling with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, the report advised.
A survey from Save the Student found that nearly two-thirds of students (63%) miss meals occasionally to save money, with 9% turning to food banks during the 2025/26 academic year.
The research also revealed that more than one in four students (28%) hold at least two jobs, while almost half (46%) have considered dropping out of university altogether because of financial difficulties.
Tom Allingham, Save the Student’s student money expert, said: “Maintenance loans have always fallen short of living costs, but this has become exponentially worse in recent years. “In previous generations, that might have meant skipping one or two nights out or living on baked beans for a few days.
“Today, following significant real-terms cuts, almost two-thirds of respondents are skipping meals to save money, over a quarter work two or more jobs, and countless others speak of extreme social isolation due to financial pressures.”
University students are spending an average of £1,146 a month, leaving them with an average shortfall of £467 a month, the survey has suggested.
It found that more than three in four (77%) students surveyed are worried about their student loan repayments.More than one in four students reported having at least two jobs More than one in four students reported having at least two jobs (Chris Ison/PA). More than nine in 10 (91%) students said they think at least one change should be made to student loan repayments.
A report by the Commons Treasury Committee in July called on the Government to scrap the three-year threshold freeze for graduates repaying their student loans. Ministers have faced criticism for how they have handled repayment terms for graduates, in particular those with so-called “plan 2” loans taken out between September 1 2012 and July 31 2023 in England.
At the budget in October, the Chancellor froze the salary threshold at which graduates repay the loan for three years from 2027. From next year, they will pay back 9% of everything they earn above £29,385 until 2030.
Graduates will likely be left worse off as a result, as the threshold would have otherwise risen with inflation. Dame Meg Hillier, the Labour MP who chairs the Commons Treasury Committee, urged the Government to “reconsider” the threshold freeze.
She told MPs in the Commons on Tuesday: “This is a cohort of students already facing huge pressures on housing costs, facing pressures paying into pensions, the generation that is helping to grow Britain, that is working to deliver essential jobs in our in our economy, helping to grow that economy, the generation that will pay for the NHS and the ageing population.”
Mr Allingham added: “We’re calling on the Government not to ignore the plight of current students, and to ensure any student loan reforms include increasing maintenance funding to catch up with inflation.”

Vivienne Stern, chief executive of Universities UK (UUK), said: “Any student who is worried about their finances should know they are not alone; they can reach out to their university’s student support service which will be able to help.
“Universities are primed with advice and can assist with essentials; they also have initiatives such as hardship funds, bursaries and discounted meal schemes which can support students. The Government must review its maintenance thresholds in England, to better help students from all backgrounds thrive in their university careers.”
Tom Gordon, the Liberal Democrat MP for Harrog*te and Knaresborough, has proposed a review of the student finance system in England.
Mr Gordon, who said he faces a student loans bill of more than £65,000, warned he had heard from doctors who had refused extra shifts because, “once higher tax rates added, national insurance and the student loan repayments, they keep less than half of every extra pound”.
He told the Commons on Tuesday: “At a time where our NHS is calling out for extra staff and extra support, we are punishing those very people for trying to work harder.”
Save the Student’s National Student Money Survey was conducted between May and August and received 1,419 responses from undergraduate students.

Uncompleted Building: One Thing Nobody Observed About Ochacho’s Gift To Peller
We were informed that King Ochacho gifted social media sensation Peller a N400m mansion in Abuja. As expected, much attention was drawn on social media to the announcement. It sounded too good to be true. Later, reports emerged that the house actually belonged to Ochacho’s son and that Peller was allowed to stay there for free until his son eventually needed it. The deal still sounded good, as many felt Peller had been given access to a N400m property without having to pay for it.
Today, the latest report is that the mansion is an uncompleted building. Peller had a tour of the property with Ochacho and his entourage. The g*thering looked like a campaign rally, with cameras everywhere. When the 21-year-old Peller saw it, he reportedly asked Ochacho if the property was actually worth N400m. That question suggests doubts. Peller has also spoken about completing the property before the end of the year. At some point, there were also reports that he had considered selling the house because he preferred Lagos. I thought it was supposed to be a lease. Trouble might be brewing.
His colleague, Carter Efe took to social media to take some jabs at him, claiming he expected a furnished house but was shown an unfinished building.
It remains strange for a random ‘billionaire’ to wake up and publicly offer a N400m property to a social media celebrity just like that. There is clearly a lot of publicity around the relationship, and Ochacho has also been using influencers and social media personalities as part of his strategy to promote the musical career of his son, IceKing. I believe IceKing already has the publicity he needs, but the problem is that publicity at times doesn’t guarantee acceptance. He is a good and promising artiste, but his music, in my opinion, does not fit the demands of the local market. Ochacho has also pledged $1m to promote his son’s album through influencers, social media handlers and streamers. Many have argued that without strategy, the money could be expended without producing the desired results.
Back from my digression, Ochacho and Peller might be playing a chess game. The relationship appears warm and cordial, but there is a bit of distrust sprinkled over it. One party might be trying to have an upper hand over the other. I will not be shocked if they fall out in the coming months and drag each other all over the place.
Fingers crossed.
