Nobody tells you this about pitch competitions.
The pitch is the easy part. The questions are where you get tested.
- Why are your numbers like this?
- How do you compete with bigger players?
- What happens if a supplier lets you down?
The Virtual SBIC does not just prepare you to talk about your business. It prepares you to defend it under pressure.
5 days left to apply.

Do not let that be you.
If you have a business and have been sitting on this application, this is the week to stop sitting and start typing.

Most people think a pitch competition means submit, wait, then panic on stage.
That is not how the Virtual SBIC works.
Once shortlisted, you go through structured training before you ever face a live audience. Your business model, your numbers, your story, your use of funds, all sharpened with guidance before the pressure of pitching even begins.
By the time Season 1 contestants stepped on stage, they were not winging it. They had been deliberately prepared.
If pitching has been intimidating you, this programme is built to take care of that.
Applications close June 29th, 2026.

Be honest.
Have you been thinking about applying for the Virtual SBIC but kept telling yourself your business is not ready yet?
Here is the truth. Nobody who applied for Season 1 had a perfect business or a flawless pitch. They had something real and the willingness to be trained. That is exactly what got them ready.
If you have customers, even a few. If you have something people are paying for, even on a small scale. You already qualify.
Stop waiting to feel ready. Apply and let the process make you ready.
Deadline: June 29th, 2026.

Here is the truth about visibility that most business owners learn too late.
Posting a lot is not the same as being visible.
You can post every day and still be invisible to the right people. Also, you can post three times a week and build a brand that people recognise, trust, and buy from without a second thought.
The difference is not frequency. It is clarity, consistency, and showing up where your actual customer spends their time. Real visibility means your ideal customer sees you regularly enough that when they are ready to buy, your name comes to mind first. Not because you paid for it. Because you earned it by showing up.
Three things that actually build visibility:
• A clear message that makes people immediately understand what you do and who you do it for.
• Consistent presence over a long enough period that people start to recognise and trust you.
• Proof that what you offer works, through testimonials, results, and real customer experiences.
Visibility is a long game, but it is the only game worth playing.

Asking your network for support is fine, but making it your only marketing strategy is not.
When every post is a plea and every caption leads with sympathy, people stop seeing your business and start seeing a burden. Sympathy can drive one sale. Visibility, value, and consistency drive ten.
Post with confidence. Show your product clearly. Explain why it is worth buying. Give people a reason to choose you that has nothing to do with pity.
When you build that kind of presence, you will not need to beg. The right customers will come because they trust what they see.

She has been selling from her shop for four years.
She has egular customers, good reviews, a brand name people recognise in the area, and the business is genuinely thriving.
But she is not registered.
After all, the money is coming. The customers are loyal. The business feels real.
Then the funding opportunity comes, or the brand collaboration, maybe someone else registers her business name. And suddenly, what felt like a solid foundation turns out to have a gap in it that could have been filled for less than she thinks.
CAC registration is not the final destination of building a business. It is a foundation piece that protects everything you are building above it.
If your business already has customers, a name, and a future you are working towards, this is your sign.
Register it.
