What if your readers could buy your book directly from your own website?
One thing I've noticed with many authors is that they work incredibly hard to write, edit and publish a book—and then depend entirely on a third-party platform to complete the sale.
But you can build another option.
Your author website can become a place where a reader discovers your book, learns about it, clicks Buy Now, pays by card and receives the book without having to leave your platform for the entire buying journey.
And you don't necessarily need to build a complicated online store to get started.
For a simple eBook, you can use Stripe Payment Links and connect the payment process to a Buy Now button on your website.
But there is something many Stripe tutorials don't explain:
Taking the payment is only one part of selling the book.
What happens after the reader pays?
How do they receive the eBook?
What if you're selling a paperback?
How do you handle shipping?
How much do you actually keep after payment-processing and fulfillment costs?
Should you use Stripe Payment Links, Stripe Checkout or WooCommerce?
And if you're an author in Nigeria selling to readers in the U.S. or U.K., what should you consider before setting everything up?
I put all of this together in a practical guide, including the calculations, setup options, mistakes to avoid and the complete journey from:
Reader → Website → Book Sales Page → Stripe → Payment → Book Delivery
If you've been thinking about selling your books directly from your own website, this is a good place to start.

Google PageSpeed Is Failing Your Website? Fix These 3 Things First
Your website may look beautiful on a laptop and still feel painfully slow to someone using a phone.
And if you've ever opened Google PageSpeed Insights and wondered: “What exactly am I supposed to fix here?”
A low PageSpeed score doesn't automatically tell you what the real problem is.
Sometimes it's a huge image.
Sometimes it's JavaScript.
Sometimes your hosting is the bottleneck.
Sometimes the page keeps jumping because elements don't have enough space reserved for them.
And sometimes you're spending hours trying to move a score from 95 to 100 while ignoring the actual problem your visitors are experiencing.
I put together a practical web designer's checklist showing you how to troubleshoot:
🔹 LCP — slow loading
🔹 INP — slow interactions
🔹 CLS — pages that jump around
🔹 Large images
🔹 JavaScript and plugins
🔹 WordPress caching
🔹 Hosting and server response
🔹 Mobile performance
🔹 Page builders
🔹 Third-party scripts
Most importantly, I explain what to fix first—and what you shouldn't waste your time fixing.

If you've ever struggled with Google PageSpeed Insights, save this one. You'll probably need it again.

You don't need to know how to code to build a professional website for your business.
But here's what most people don't realize:
Building a website is easy. Building one that actually brings customers is the difficult part.
Your website can look beautiful and still fail because:
❌ Customers can't find what you offer
❌ It looks terrible on mobile
❌ There's no clear way to contact you
❌ The pages aren't optimized for Google
❌ Your website loads too slowly
❌ Visitors don't know what to do next
So, if you're planning to build a website for your business—or you're wondering whether you should build one yourself—I put together a practical step-by-step guide covering domains, hosting, WordPress, design, SEO, mobile optimization, website costs, WhatsApp, mistakes to avoid, and when it's better to hire a professional.

Most authors spend months writing a book…
Then hand the reader relationship over to someone else.
But what if you could sell your book directly to your readers?
You can.
Your own website can become more than an online business card. It can become your bookstore, email-list builder, and direct sales channel.
And there’s another big advantage: you can potentially keep more of each sale because you’re not relying entirely on a retailer’s royalty structure.
But there’s a catch.
Payment processing, shipping, advertising, website costs, and fulfillment can quickly eat into your profit if you don't calculate the numbers properly.
So, is selling directly actually better than selling through Amazon?
And how do you set it up without making it complicated?
I break down the real numbers, the hidden costs, eBook and paperback strategies, email lists, bundles, pricing, and the Amazon + direct-sales strategy that may make more sense for many authors.
