Nigeria will be okay

“I was at Parklane Hospital in Enugu, where I saw nearly a thousand people battling kidney problems. Nobody seems to care about them, but we politicians are busy wasting our resources, using public funds to buy houses all over the world and doing things we don’t need, as if God created only us. We have less than 10% of the kidney machines in Nigeria. This is something Nigeria can easily afford, but we have money to waste.”

— NDC presidential candidate H.E Peter Obi

Obi/Kwankwaso is coming

18/08/2026

Osun has sent a message.

Ademola Adeleke’s victory over the APC in Osun is more than a state election, it is a reminder that power ultimately belongs to the people.

If the people can say “Enough is enough” and demand a different direction, 2027 can be a turning point for Nigeria.

For Peter Obi and everyone hoping for a new political path, Osun offers one simple message: when the people decide, anything is possible.

2027 is not about one man. It is about the choice Nigerians make when they finally say, “We want better.”

Congratulations Imole

Uche Uzodimma, A Hammer Convinced Every Voice Is a Nail

Open Letter to Governor Hope Uzodimma

Your Excellency,

Excuse my audacity to write you in this manner.

As Thomas Sowell said “It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong”

As at today, I do not know any office that is the office of the brother to the governor.
It is an unfortunately unimaginable circumstance that people associated to those in power by blood will strut around with a disregard to the law than the governor himself can think of.

On the 2nd day of June 2026, a man alleged to be the brother to the excutive governor of Imo State by the name Uche Uzodimma openly assaulted the Imo State leader of Obi/Kwankwaso movement Mr Christian Nwanebu unrestrained.
In fact, rather than an form of restrain , he was aided by his police aides in the most violent and unthinkable manner.
So many things about that incident appear disturbing on face value but quite a few standout as remarkably unacceptable.

Even though many eye witnesses have outrightly dismissed their insulting excuse for violence, I would still put it out there for the simple honour of judging yourself.

He, Uche Uzodimma alleged that the incident was triggered because Mr. Nwanebu crossed a caution tape at a site in Imo State University.

Firstly, a caution tape is a mere warning of danger. It is not a decree, it is not an instrument of state authority neither is is it a legal order compelling citizens to retreat.

Secondly, even if someone crossed such a tape, no civilized society recognizes that as justification for violence. The explanation is so flimsy that it raises more questions than it answers.
The people of Imo State are not fools.
They can see the difference between a genuine security concern and what appears to many citizens to be an attempt to suppress, intimidate, and humiliate a political opponent in the crudest manner imaginable.

Recall, this same Uche Uzodimma was was sometime in February 2021 accused by Comrade Precious Nwadike, publisher/editor of the Owerri-based Nigeria Watchdog of leading thugs (with police escorts) to brutally assaulting him to the Point of coma. This same man who perceives himself as untouchable.

Recall, On 23 November 2025, President Bola Tinubu directed the withdrawal of police officers attached to VIPs and politically exposed persons so that scarce security resources could be redirected toward protecting ordinary Nigerians and combating insecurity.

Citizens are therefore compelled to ask a simple question:
Why are police officers still being deployed in circumstances that create the impression that they are serving private interests rather than public ones?
Those officers are paid with taxpayers’ money.
They are employed to protect citizens.
They are not employed to intimidate citizens.
They are not employed to settle political disagreements.

They are not employed for integrity challenged & privileged rascals to illegally use, against the directives of the President to enforce personal wants because they believe proximity to power places them above accountability.

Your Excellency, there is no constitutional office known as “Brother to the Governor” and the continued recklessness of Uche Uzodimma should be halted immediately without any considerations to family ties.

No law grants grants the police the denigrating liberty of serving as personal bouncers and thugs to private individuals.

No citizen should be expected to surrender his rights because another citizen happens to share a surname with the Governor.
Of course we know that the predictable response to public outrage will be a weak denial and consequent attempt to intimidate accusers and those clamouring for justice.

The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement will not be intimidated. The rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will be defended through every lawful and democratic means available to citizens.

The individuals both uniformed and non uniformed should be allowed to freely face the consequences in a law court.

Yours faithfully,

Ebubechukwu Ibecheozor

ACCEPTANCE SPEECH BY MR. PETER OBI FOLLOWING HIS NOMINATION AS THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF THE NIGERIAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS(NDC) – MAY 30, 2026

Protocols,

Esteemed citizens of Nigeria,

It is with deep humility that I accept the role of presidential candidate for our party.
I express my profound gratitude to the leaders of our party. His Excellency Seriake Dickson, the National Chairman, National Secretary and the National Working Committee, NWC members and members of our relentless supporters, and the Nigerian populace who have steadfastly kept the spirit of hope alive. I commend those who have made the journey from every region of our nation to convene here in Abuja.

I wish to assert unequivocally: a New Nigeria is Possible. This conviction has united us; it must serve as our compass on the challenging road ahead and sustain us through all trials we may face. This pivotal moment transcends the individual ambitions of Peter Obi; it concerns the essence of our nation and the future of our children. It is about rekindling hope for millions who have faced adversity yet remain committed to Nigeria.

Today, our nation finds itself at a crucial juncture, enveloped in uncertainty. Families are anxious about their safety; parents are concerned for their children's futures; and talented youth increasingly question their prospects in their homeland.

Businesses are struggling, communities are suffering, and an alarming number of citizens have lost faith in the very concept of governance. Yet, I stand before you filled with optimism and strong faith in the resilience of our people, for I firmly believe that a New Nigeria is possible.

UNITY
To realise this New Nigeria, we must first mend the foundational elements essential for the success of any nation.

Nigeria cannot advance while fragmented by ethnic, religious, regional, or narrow political divides. We may communicate in different languages and practise diverse faiths, but we share a singular destiny under one flag. Our diversity should not be a source of division; rather, it is among our greatest strengths.

We should build bridges where others erect barriers, replace mistrust with confidence, division with understanding, and resentment with a collective purpose. A united Nigeria is indispensable. As Will Durant wisely pointed out, "A great civilisation is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within." We must never self-destruct. We must heal, unify, and progress together.

INSECURITY
In terms of security, the situation in Nigeria has considerably worsened. The global terrorism impact assessments ranked Nigeria as the 8th most affected nation in 2022, 6th in 2024, and 4th in 2026.
Yet, for many years, Nigeria garnered global recognition as a reliable contributor to peacekeeping, regional stabilisation, and conflict resolution. Our troops have not only displayed bravery but have also shown professionalism, discipline, resilience, and empathy in the most challenging operational contexts. Our officers and personnel have successfully commanded multiple international forthe ces, safeguarded vulnerable civilian populations, monitored ceasefires, reinstated constitutional order, and contributed to rebuilding efforts.

Nigeria became one of the leading contributors of troops from Africa to UN peacekeeping missions and earned widespread admiration for operational effectiveness and leadership in various countries, including Rwanda, Sudan, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, Western Sahara, Congo, Lebanon, Cambodia, Haiti, and Kuwait. At one pointin a Nigeria, Lt. General Isaac Obiakor (rtd) even led global peacekeeping initiatives.

We must address insecurity with resolve and urgency, for no nation can thrive while its citizens live in trepidation. The primary responsibility of the government is to ensure the safeguarding of lives and property.
