RESS STATEMENT & UPDATE FROM THE STUDENT BODY



Yesterday, history was made on our campus.

The entire student populace came out in one voice. Tired, but united. Frustrated, but peaceful. We marched not because we hate this school, but because we love it and we want it to work for all of us.

For too long we have kept quiet while our concerns piled up:
- Unbearable living conditions in hostels
- Refusal to refund student Nelfund disbursement
- Hike in fees and other charges
- Poor academic facilities and constant disruptions
- Lack of dialogue between management and students

Yesterday we said ENOUGH.
We came out peacefully. No vandalism. No violence. Just students with placards, with voices, with demands. We stood at the gate, we sang the anthem, and we told management: “We are stakeholders too. Listen to us.”

Management responded with a directive for a 2-week shutdow and asked all students to vacate hostels and campus immediately.

Comrades, let’s be honest.
Sending thousands of students home with 24 hours notice is not a solution. It is hardship. Many of us have paid for hostel for the whole session.
Many of us have tests, projects, and exams coming up. Many of us have nowhere to go.

As your Student Union Government, we do NOT agree to this shutdown.
We reject any decision made without proper dialogue with student representatives.

OUR POSITION IS CLEAR:
1. We will remain peaceful: This movement is about dignity, not destruction.
2. We will remain on campus: Students in hostels should stay in their hostels. Students off-campus should remain in their lodges around school. Do not travel.
3. We will continue the conversation: The only way forward is dialogue, not displacement.

To the media, to parents, to the general public: We are not troublemakers. We are students asking for a better learning environment. We are the future of this country and we deserve to be heard.

To School Management: Our doors are open for dialogue. Shutting down the school shuts down our dreams. Let us talk. Let us find solutions together.

To my fellow students: Stay united. Stay calm. Do not be provoked. Do not spread rumors
