Representatives of the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students(NANNS) visited the HelpMum Hq to present our CEO, Dr.Abiodun Adereni with an Award of Excellence as “Icon of Humanitarian Service,” alongside a Certificate of Appreciation.

The award recognizes his sagacity, uprightness and diligent disposition of duties, with absolute fairness, accountability and integrity. The certificate also honors his exemplary service and commitment to society.

The HelpMum chatbot has played a crucial role in bridging the gap between mothers and essential healthcare services. Available on WhatsApp, it provides immunization reminders, pregnancy care tips, and postnatal guidance in simple, easy-to-understand language.

The HelpMum chatbot has contributed to improving maternal and child health outcomes across Nigeria by addressing vaccine hesitancy and promoting positive health behaviors. More than 400,000 mothers have been reached..

One point he highlighted is especially important for young professionals: be a domain expert first.

When you deeply understand a field like healthcare, you begin to see the problems where AI can actually make a difference. That thinking is at the heart of the work we do at HelpMum, from building solutions for maternal and child health to developing ADVISER, our AI framework built in collaboration with Google Research and Vanderbilt University and recognised at IJCAI.

Nigeria has the talent and the ideas. But turning that potential into sustainable AI innovation will require more than talent alone. We need stronger research funding, better access to quality and digitised data, reliable power infrastructure, and an ecosystem that gives local innovators the support to build and scale.

The opportunity is here. The question is whether we can build the systems needed to fully unlock it.

Childhood immunization programs are pillars of public health, crucial in preventing the spread of infectious diseases and decreasing global morbidity and mortality rates.

This week, our state officer visited Gidan Liman settlement in Jigawa state for our adviser activity to administer vaccines. Also, our state officer in Oyo; we visited inu ikoko, adekola, muslim and alubarika community still for our adviser activity. Also, in katsina state, we visited the Ung Kwando settlement.
