2027: APC Governors Distance Themselves From Wike-Led ‘Rainbow Coalition’, Deny Alliance

Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have denied having any alliance with the Nyesom Wike-led ‘rainbow coalition’ ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governors said they are not part of any political arrangement involving the coalition, distancing themselves from reports linking them to the group.

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term, saying he never promised that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would not field candidates in the governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections.

Wike made the clarification while addressing the ongoing political discussions within the PDP, stressing that his support for Tinubu does not amount to a commitment that the opposition party would abandon its participation in other elections.

🚨 RIVERS POLITICS: MAJOR JACK NAMED APC DEPUTY GOVERNOR CANDIDATE FOR 2027

The APC in Rivers State has picked Major M. Jack, the current Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, as the party’s deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

Jack, who represents Akuku-Toru Constituency I, will run alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Kingsley Ogundu Chinda.

The party announced the decision Monday after consultations with APC leaders and members of the Rainbow Coalition.

According to party sources, Jack’s selection is partly about geography. His strong ties to the riverine communities could help the APC expand its support in areas where the party is looking to make gains.

Jack is an engineer and experienced lawmaker from Abonnema in Akuku-Toru LGA. He joined the APC in December 2025 alongside Assembly Speaker Martin Amaewhule and several other lawmakers.

He currently serves as Majority Leader in the 10th Assembly.

The APC described Jack as a leader with legislative experience and deep connections to his community, saying his addition creates what the party considers a more balanced ticket.

Chinda has also welcomed the choice, saying the ticket will focus on governance, infrastructure and security across Rivers State.

The bigger question now is whether the Chinda-Jack ticket can translate these political alliances into votes.

With the 2027 election approaching, Rivers State is already seeing major political realignments—and this latest move could have a significant impact on the race.

Do you think Major Jack is the right choice for the APC ticket?

Ex-Gang Leader ‘Keffe D’ Found Guilty of Killing Rap Legend Tupac Shakur After Nearly 30 Years of Mystery

Nearly three decades after Tupac Shakur was gunned down on a Las Vegas street, one of hip-hop’s most notorious unsolved murders has finally produced a guilty verdict.

A Nevada jury has found Duane “Keffe D” Davis, 63, guilty of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon in connection with the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur. The verdict came after the jury deliberated for less than three hours, marking the first conviction in the decades-old case.

Tupac, one of the most influential and commercially successful rappers of all time, was just 25 when his life was cut short.

On September 7, 1996, Tupac was riding in a BMW with Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight after attending a Mike Tyson boxing match in Las Vegas. As their vehicle stopped at a red light, a white Cadillac pulled alongside them.

Gunfire erupted.

Tupac was struck multiple times. Knight was also wounded but survived. Tupac was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital, where he died six days later from his injuries.

For years, the identity of the person responsible remained one of the biggest mysteries in music history.

Then came Keffe D.

Prosecutors argued that Davis, a former leader of the Southside Compton Crips, orchestrated the attack as an act of retaliation.

Hours before the shooting, Tupac and members of his entourage had been involved in a physical confrontation with Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, Davis’ nephew, at the MGM Grand. Prosecutors said the confrontation triggered a revenge plot.

According to the prosecution, Davis and three other men eventually traveled through Las Vegas in a white Cadillac looking for Tupac and Knight. Davis allegedly obtained the firearm and passed it to the men in the back seat. When they encountered Tupac’s vehicle, one of the passengers opened fire.

The prosecution's case was unusual because Davis was not accused of personally pulling the trigger.

Instead, prosecutors argued that he helped orchestrate the killing and therefore could be held responsible under Nevada law.

One of the most important pieces of evidence was Davis' own words.

Over the years, Davis repeatedly discussed the shooting in interviews, recordings and his memoir. Prosecutors used those statements to argue that Davis had effectively admitted his involvement.

His defense, however, insisted that his statements were exaggerated and unreliable. Davis' attorney argued that there was no forensic evidence placing his client inside the Cadillac and no eyewitness who identified him as being at the scene.

The jury ultimately sided with prosecutors.

The conviction brings a dramatic new chapter to a murder that has fueled countless theories, documentaries, books and debates among Tupac fans for nearly 30 years.

Davis is currently facing the possibility of life in prison without parole. His sentencing is scheduled for October 13, 2026, and he has indicated that he plans to appeal the conviction.

For Tupac's family, however, the verdict represents something far more personal.

After years of unanswered questions, speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the rapper's death, a jury has now formally determined that Davis was criminally responsible for the killing.

Tupac Shakur's music has continued to influence generations long after his death.

Now, nearly 30 years later, the courtroom has finally delivered its verdict on one of the most infamous murders in hip-hop history.
