The second day of the Students' Week celebration at Maurid College of Nursing Sciences, Mbiaso in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, was a remarkable showcase of Nigeria's rich cultural heritage as students took center stage in a colorful Cultural Display.

The event brought together students from diverse backgrounds who proudly represented various ethnic nationalities across the country, including the Efik, Ibibio, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Edo, Idoma, Ikwere, and several other tribes. Dressed in beautiful traditional attire, the students thrilled the audience with captivating cultural dances, songs, dramatic presentations, and displays that highlighted the uniqueness and beauty of their respective cultures.

Addressing students and guests at the event, Dr. Godwin Umontuen, Chairman , Maurid Group of Schools, applauded the participants for their creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to preserving the nation's cultural values. He noted that Nigeria's strength lies in its diversity and encouraged the students to embrace cultural tolerance, unity, and mutual respect.

Dr. Umontuen emphasized that education is not limited to academic excellence alone but also involves the promotion of cultural awareness, character development, leadership, and national cohesion. He commended the students for demonstrating that despite their different ethnic backgrounds, they can coexist peacefully and work together towards a common goal. He appreciates the staff and everyone that supported the event.

The cultural fiesta transformed the college environment into a vibrant display of colors, traditions, and unity, leaving students, staff, and visitors with memorable experiences and a deeper appreciation of Nigeria's rich cultural heritage.

The event further reaffirmed Maurid College of Nursing Sciences' commitment to producing healthcare professionals who are not only academically sound but also culturally conscious and socially responsible citizens.

INEC Finally Settles PDP Leadership Question With Updated PDP NWC List On There Portal.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has further brought clarity to the leadership structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by updating its official portal with the names of members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

The updated records on the Commission’s portal reflect the leadership of the Party under the National Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Abdulrahman, and the National Secretary, Distinguished Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu.

This development is widely seen as a significant step in affirming the current leadership of the Party and reinforcing institutional certainty regarding the composition of the PDP’s National Working Committee. It also aligns with the Party’s continued efforts to strengthen internal administration and ensure effective coordination of its activities nationwide.

Political observers note that the update provides further clarity for party members, stakeholders, and the general public, as INEC’s records serve as an important reference point for the recognition of political party officials and the conduct of party affairs.

APOSTLE DR. ELIJAH JACK BIDS FAREWELL TO HIS SISTER-IN-LAW

Apostle Dr. Elijah Jack, Founder and Lead Pastor of His Divine Redeemed World Ministries, paid his last respects to his beloved sister-in-law, Late Mrs. Beatrice Jack Okpudo, during her funeral service held at QIC Primary School, Ikot Akpatek Village, in ONNA Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The solemn funeral service, conducted by the Deeper Life Bible Church, was marked by heartfelt worship, prayers, and tributes celebrating the life, faith, and legacy of the deceased.

In his tribute, Apostle Dr. Elijah Jack described Late Mrs. Beatrice Jack Okpudo as a loving, caring, and virtuous woman whose kindness, humility, and dedication to family left a lasting impact on all who knew her. He encouraged the bereaved family to remain steadfast in faith, drawing strength and comfort from God during this difficult period.

Joined by friends, associates, and other sympathizers, Apostle Dr. Elijah Jack reflected on the invaluable memories shared with the deceased and prayed for God's comfort and strength upon the entire family as they navigate this season of grief.

The International Christian Worship Center, Uyo, was filled with an atmosphere of faith, gratitude, and expectation as Elder Ntia, APC candidate for ONNA State Constituency, Lady Mae Edmonds, Ayara Johnson, PA to the Governor on Mobilization, and several other stakeholders joined His Excellency, Umo Eno,Ph.D, for the final day of the 3-Day Prayer Summit organized to usher in the fourth year of his administration.

The summit served as a spiritual gathering where prayers were offered for the continued growth, unity, and development of Akwa Ibom State. Participants sought God's guidance and blessings upon the Governor, his team, and the people of the state as the administration enters a new phase of leadership and service.

The closing session was marked by powerful prayers, worship, and renewed commitment to the vision of a greater and more prosperous Akwa Ibom, leaving attendees inspired and hopeful for the future.
