The Federal Government has approved the takeover of *Higher National Diploma (HND)* admissions by the *Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)*, beginning from the *2026/2027* admission session.
The development was disclosed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in a circular dated 9 September 2026, following a meeting involving the Federal Ministry of Education, JAMB, NBTE and other relevant stakeholders.
Under the new arrangement, HND admissions across institutions will be processed through JAMB under a centralised system. The move is aimed at addressing illegal and compromised admissions and preventing situations where graduates later face difficulties with NYSC mobilisation because of irregular admissions.
NBTE is expected to develop comprehensive guidelines for HND admissions and submit them to JAMB to guide implementation of the new digital admission platform.
The Federal Ministry of Education is also expected to issue a detailed statement on the new arrangement next week, according to the NBTE circular.
Candidates and prospective HND applicants are advised to await the detailed guidelines and further clarification from the Federal Ministry of Education, JAMB and NBTE before taking action.

4. Exams are scheduled for morning *(9:00 AM – 12:00 NOON)* and afternoon *(1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)*. Students are expected to be at the exam venue on time. The *STUDENT HANDBOOK* mandates that coming to an exam *30 MINUTES AFTER ITS COMMENCEMENT* warrants forfeiture of such an exam.

For our final year students signing out, may this month mark the beginning of greater opportunities, breakthroughs and a beautiful new chapter.
May we all finish this semester strong, victorious and with testimonies to share.

"Screening Form, Admission Form or Post UTME form"- These three are one and the same thing.
You can choose to call it any of those three names, so don't get yourself confused.
The screening form you purchased can also be called Admission form. So you don't need to purchase Screening form and Admission form. They're the same thing. Don't get scammed!
To make the admission process clear to everyone once again, here are the steps involved in gaining admission into Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic:
1. SALES OF SCREENING FORM
The Screening Form is currently open for all candidates who wish to study at Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic. Interested candidates are expected to purchase the form.
2. SCREENING
Candidates who have purchased the Screening Form and, for ND candidates, selected Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic as their First Choice on JAMB CAPS, are required to come to the school for physical screening.
Candidates are to visit their respective departments with the documents listed in the Screening Memo.
Screening Date: 9th – 11th September, 2026.
3. ADMISSION LIST
Screening comes before admission.
Many people have been asking whether they need to come for screening if their JAMB CAPS is showing:
- “Admission in Progress”
- “Not Admitted”
- “Admitted”
YES — YOU ARE STILL REQUIRED TO COME FOR SCREENING.
Regardless of what your JAMB CAPS currently displays, candidates who purchased the Screening Form are expected to come for the scheduled screening.
So, don't wait for the admission list before coming for screening. Screening is an important step in the admission process.
I hope this makes the process a little easier for everyone to understand.
Thank you!
