The Newly Elected Ohafia Youth Executive Pays Courtesy Visit to Hon. Ibe, Passes Vote of Confidence and Endorses 2027 Bid
The newly elected executive council of the Ohafia Youth Movement paid a courtesy visit to Honorable Ibe at his country residence, formally passing a vote of confidence on his leadership and declaring their endorsement for his re-election bid in 2027.
Led by the newly elected President, Ume Kalu, the executive delegation met with the lawmaker to foster stronger collaboration between local youth leadership and public representatives in driving community development.
During the visit, Comrade Ume Kalu highlighted recent milestones achieved by the leadership, notably the formal incorporation and establishment of the new Ohafia Youth Office.
Focusing on sustainable empowerment, the President emphasized the urgent need for a collective effort to establish a dedicated Ohafia Youth Skill Acquisition Centre in Ebem. According to Kalu, providing a structured venue for vocational training and capacity building remains a vital strategy to curb youth unemployment, reduce crime rates, equipping them with self-sustaining skills that actively combat crime and insecurity,"
and strengthen security across Ohafia, Kalu noted.
The youth leadership formally endorsed him for a return to office in the upcoming 2027 elections. Kalu stated that the council found it far more strategic to support a proven, pragmatic leader who has delivered tangible results than to risk the region's progress on untested leadership.
In response, Honorable Ibe commended the newly elected executives on a peaceful and successful election process, urging them to maintain unity and integrity throughout their tenure.
He reaffirmed his commitment to youth-centric governance and pledged financial and logistical support toward the realization of the Ebem Skill Acquisition Centre alongside other human capital development projects designed to uplift Ohafia youths.

Governor Otti inspects the test-running of the accessibility feature for persons with disabilities in one of the electric buses during the launch of the second batch of 20 Abia Green Shuttle Buses.
Attentive.
Detailed.
Observant.
Every feature captured in the design must be seen installed and functioning.
"Make sure it's automatic, please don't stress my people."
In the New Abia, everything we do is all-inclusive.
Those you call disabled are only physically challenged, and that has nothing to do with their ability to realize their potentials.
This is why Governor Otti is paying attention, close attention, to ensure their needs are catered for in every project completed, Otti is a perfectionist in fact.
Ndi Abia couldn't have asked for more.

Uko Nkole Takes Abia North 2027 Agenda To Arochukwu As Church Leaders, Ministers Back Peter Obi-Nkole Project
By Udo Kalu Aki
The 2027 Abia North Senatorial project of Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole received another boost as the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate engaged ministers and church leaders under the Arochukwu Ministers and Church Leaders Conference in a familiarization and courtesy visit held at the Presbyterian Church, Ututu, Arochukwu Local Government Area.
The engagement provided an opportunity for Nkole to present his vision for Abia North, interact directly with religious leaders and outline his commitment to purposeful representation, effective leadership and sustainable development across the Senatorial District.
The meeting also provided a platform for ministers and church leaders to testify to projects and interventions delivered during Nkole's previous representation, with several participants acknowledging what they described as his visible contributions to the development of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
The testimonials formed a significant part of the interaction, with the religious leaders highlighting projects and interventions they recalled from Nkole's years of public service and expressing confidence in his capacity to deliver stronger representation at the Senate.
The ministers and church leaders subsequently pledged their commitment and support to his journey to the Senate, while also identifying with the broader political project anchored on the presidential ambition of former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
For the stakeholders at the meeting, the emerging political alignment represents a wider project beyond the Abia North Senate race, commending Nkole for positioning his senatorial ambition within the broader effort to project and advance the Peter Obi presidential mandate, a proof of his belief for wider Igbo cause within the Nigeria project.
Addressing the conference, the Abia North senatorial candidate declared his readiness to serve the people of the zone at the Red Chamber, stressing that his experience in public administration and legislative service places him in a strong position to effectively articulate, protect and defend the interests of Abia North.
Nkole pointed to his 12 years in the civil service and his eight-year legislative experience representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 2015 and 2023 as part of the foundation of his political and administrative experience.
He maintained that his years in public service have given him a practical understanding of governance, legislation and the needs of the people, while strengthening his determination to deploy that experience to the service of Abia North.
The NDC candidate also reflected on his interventions during his tenure at the Green Chamber, noting that his legislative focus was consistently anchored on delivering meaningful dividends of democracy, human capital development and initiatives capable of improving the lives of constituents.
He said the next phase of his political journey would build on that experience, with particular attention to attracting stronger Federal Government presence and development projects to Abia North.
Nkole further pledged to pursue the funding and completion of strategic projects initiated during his tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, stressing that abandoned or unfinished projects of direct benefit to the people should not be allowed to remain unattended.
Education At The Heart Of Nkole's Agenda
Education, according to Nkole, will remain a major pillar of his legislative agenda.
He explained that his passion for education is deeply rooted in his family background, revealing that both his parents were teachers. The experience, he said, instilled in him a strong appreciation of education as a critical instrument for transforming individuals, families and communities.
He emphasized the need to ensure that children from less privileged homes are given the opportunity to acquire quality education and develop their full potential.
While highlighting his previous interventions in the sector, Nkole recalled the distribution of educational materials to primary schools across Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, alongside other human capital development and empowerment programmes that benefited numerous families and individuals.
His empowerment initiatives, he noted, also created opportunities for constituents through the distribution of vehicles and other support packages to beneficiaries.
He further pointed to the number of sons and daughters of Arochukwu and Ohafia who are today serving or working in various capacities at the state and federal levels, describing the development as part of the broader human capital development philosophy that has characterized his public service.
Oboro-Ndi Uduma Ukwu-Ndi Aku-Nkwebi-Okagwe Road Gets Fresh Commitment
A major issue raised during the interactive session was the urgent need for intervention on the Oboro, Ndi Uduma Ukwu, Ndi Aku, Nkwebi and Okagwe Road, a critical infrastructure concern for communities within the area.
Responding to the concerns, Nkole explained the steps he had previously taken towards attracting Federal Government attention and intervention to the road.
He, however, assured the gathering that the project remains a priority and pledged to intensify efforts towards securing the necessary Federal Government attention once elected as Senator representing Abia North.
According to him, the objective is not merely to secure political office but to use the platform to push critical development projects closer to realization and ensure that communities across the Senatorial District benefit from meaningful federal presence.
The interaction also featured questions from ministers and church leaders on governance, representation and the development needs of the Senatorial District, with Nkole providing detailed responses to the issues raised.
The testimonials from the ministers and church leaders reinforced the significance of the engagement, as participants recalled projects and interventions associated with Nkole's representation and expressed their willingness to support his aspiration for the Senate.
Their support, however, extended beyond the Abia North senatorial contest, with the stakeholders also pledging their commitment to the political journey of Peter Obi, whose presidential project remains a major beacon of the wider political movement Nkole is projecting.
The development effectively placed the Abia North senatorial bid within a broader national political context, linking Nkole's proposed representation at the Senate with the quest to advance the Peter Obi presidential mandate.
The engagement ended with the NDC candidate expressing appreciation to the leadership and members of the Arochukwu Ministers and Church Leaders Conference for the warm reception and opportunity to interface with them.
He solicited continued prayers, unity, peace and support for leaders genuinely committed to the welfare and development of the people.
As the 2027 political season continues to take shape, Nkole's campaign for the Abia North Senate seat is being anchored on his record of public service, legislative experience and a proposed agenda centred on purposeful and accessible representation.
He pledged to work across party, community and religious lines in the collective interest of Abia North, identifying infrastructural development, quality education, youth empowerment, human capital development and the attraction of meaningful federal projects as key areas of his legislative agenda.
For Nkole, the 2027 contest is therefore being presented as an opportunity to translate tested experience into a stronger phase of federal representation for Abia North, while also contributing to the broader political project seeking to project Peter Obi to the Presidency.

GOV. OTTI, WIFE ATTEND, CHAIR WEDDING OF BAYELSA GOVERNOR’S DAUGHTER IN YENAGOA.
The Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, and his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Chidimma Otti, earlier today attended and chaired the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Bayelsa State Governor, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri.
The bride, Dr. Stephanie Ebidenere Diri, was joined in holy matrimony with Mr. Ballad Tamaradoubra.
The Abia First Family participated fully in the ceremony, beginning with the Church service at the Royal House of Grace International Church [Greenland Paris], Yenagoa, where the couple exchanged vows, followed by the reception which was chaired by Governor Otti.
Governor Otti congratulated Stephanie and Ballad and prayed for a happy and successful marriage as they begin their marital journey.
Referencing the biblical scripture that says “a man shall leave his father and mother, be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh,” Governor Otti said: “Today, both of you are leaving your immediate families to make a new family, and our prayer is that this union will be successful.”
In his words of admonition, the Governor noted that disagreements would inevitably arise in marriage. He urged the couple to always resolve their differences internally without involving third parties, including relatives and friends.
He cautioned that involving third parties could be counterproductive, as relatives and friends might approach such matters with bias. He therefore advised the couple to manage their affairs wisely, understand their respective responsibilities, and fulfil their roles to each other.
The Governor also prayed God to bless the couple with as many children as they desire and grant them the resources, wisdom, and strength to raise them well.
The officiating minister, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, Founder and General Overseer of the Royal House of Grace International Church, commended Governor Otti for his good works and development initiatives in Abia State, particularly his massive investment in road infrastructure.
He cited the reconstruction and rehabilitation of major roads in Abia, noting that the improved road network has made it easier to travel from Rivers State through Port Harcourt Road in Aba, onto the Ikot Ekpene Road and onward to Uyo in Akwa Ibom State. He said such journeys were difficult and stressful in the past because of bad roads.
Apostle Aggrey also thanked Governor Otti for giving the late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai a befitting State burial and for immortalizing him by naming the recently reconstructed and dualized Umuahia-Tower to Onu-Imo Federal Road after the renowned cleric.
The wedding ceremony attracted an array of dignitaries from across the country, including: Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara; Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Usman Ododo; Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Former First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, among others.
Governor Otti was accompanied to the wedding by the Secretary to the Abia State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, and the State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna, SAN.
