With generous support from individuals and private sector partners through our Fund-Raising exercise, Jen Initiative for Integrity and Development (JIID) commemorated Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 on June 5th, under the theme “Together for a .”
Our team organized sensitization activities at Government Day Secondary School Capital and El-Shaddai Model School in Yola North, Adamawa State, reaching 100 adolescent girls. During the sessions, we discussed key topics including: understanding menstrual cycles and hygiene practices, proper menstrual waste management, managing menstrual discomfort, the health impacts of poor menstrual hygiene, the significance of menstrual products in maintaining dignity and confidence, and how to recognize and prevent Sexual Gender-Based Violence.
To reinforce our commitment, we distributed Dignity Kits to the participants, providing them with essential items to manage their menstrual health with dignity.
Our Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 activities are a step toward building a . We believe every girl deserves access to accurate information, quality education, and dignity, regardless of her menstrual status.

On March 22, 2026, Jen Initiative for Integrity and Development (JIID) join the global community in commemorating World Water Day, an annual observance established by the United Nations in 1993 to spotlight the world’s water challenges, advocate for sustainable water resource management, and promote equitable access to clean and safe water for all.
This year’s theme, “Water and Gender,” reminds us that water is not just a vital resource, it is deeply connected to social equity. Women and girls across the globe often carry a disproportionate burden in accessing and managing water, facing challenges that limit opportunities and reinforce inequality. However, the integration of gender considerations into water management is essential for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5 (gender equality) and 6 (clean water and sanitation).
On this World Water Day 2026, we call for action:
• Promote inclusive policies that empower women in water governance.
• Ensure equitable access to water as a matter of human rights.
• Work together to eliminate gender disparities and build resilient, equal societies.
Water security must benefit everyone regardless of gender. Let us unite to create a future where access to clean water is universal, and where women and men share equally in shaping sustainable solutions.
