What Happens When Peace Is Missing?
Behind every conflict are real people whose lives, opportunities, and hopes can be deeply affected. Violence can disrupt access to food, education, healthcare, safe water, and the basic conditions people need to thrive.
As we commemorate the international Peace week,we are reminded that peace is more than the absence of conflict. It is about creating communities where people feel safe, heard, included, and empowered to build better futures.
Let’s make peace a daily commitment. Let’s invest in peace, for everyone, everywhere, every day.

Today, we join the world in commemorating International Day of Peace, a reminder that peace is not built by one person or in one moment. It is created through the choices we make, the conversations we have, and the actions we take every day.
From our homes to our communities, everyone has a role to play in building a more peaceful and inclusive world. Let’s choose understanding over division, dialogue over conflict, and compassion over hate.
Because peace starts with us.
Happy International Day of Peace!

Hello Monday!
A new week brings another opportunity to choose understanding over conflict, kindness over anger, and peace over division.
As we mark International Peace Week, let’s be intentional about the little choices that shape our homes, communities, and the world around us.
Let’s choose peace, lead with kindness, and be part of the change we want to see.
Highlights from the commissioning of the Joint Action Plan implemented by the WCAC and the CCC in Numan and Demsa LGA of Adamawa State.
Across Numan and Demsa LGAs, the women of WCAC are showing what community leadership looks like when women have the space to identify challenges, make decisions, and lead solutions.
Through the Her Response Count Project funded by Women's Peace & Humanitarian Fund with support from UN Women, the WCAC worked with the Community Coordination Committees (CCCs) to identify pressing challenges and turn their ideas into practical, community-led solutions.
In Numan LGA over 400 trees were commissioned for tree planting across all 10 wards, helping address flooding risks while creating future income opportunities through fruit production.
In Bare Ward in Numan LGA,a solar powered borehole was rehabilitated and commissioned, restoring access to water and extending to eight additional outlets serving over 10,000 people in the ward.
Meanwhile, women in Dwam Ward, Demsa LGA,repaired a borehole that had been non-functional for five years while women in Nasarawo Ward supported the construction of a walkway connecting communities often cut off during the rainy season were also commissioned for use.
These are more than projects. They are proof of what women can achieve when trusted and supported to lead solutions their communities can see and feel.

What happens when women are given the opportunity, resources, and support to lead? They don’t just participate in change they create it!
Across Numan and Demsa LGAs,the women of WCAC are showing what community leadership looks like when women have the space to identify challenges, make decisions, and lead solutions.
Through the Her Response Count Project, funded by Women's Peace & Humanitarian Fund with support from UN Women the WCAC received funding to implement community-led climate joint action plan, working alongside the Community Coordination Committees (CCC). The result is a powerful demonstration of what women can achieve when they are trusted and supported to lead.
In Numan LGA women responded to the growing threat of flooding by leading a tree-planting exercise across all 10 wards helping mitigate flooding risks while creating future income opportunities through fruit production.
In Bare Ward,a borehole that had been out of use for months was rehabilitated, restoring access to water for the community and eight additional borehole outlets.
Meanwhile, in Demsa LGA women in Dwam Ward repaired a community borehole, while women in Nasarawo Ward supported the construction of a walkway connecting two communities that are often cut off during the rainy season.
These are more than projects, this shows are women identifying challenges, leading solutions, and creating change that their communities can feel and we are happy to see this results from the WCACs.
10 YEARS OF BUILDING TODAY FOR TOMORROW! Let’s go down memory lane!
Ten years ago, in 2016,a vision was birthed by one person with a passion to build a better future from our communities, for our communities.
Seven years ago, in 2019, that vision took another important step as Today for Tomorrow Initiative (TFT) became legally registered, marking a new chapter in a journey of purpose, commitment, and impact.
Now, as we celebrate 10 years, let’s take you down memory lane and revisit how TFT started, the vision that began it all, and the journey that has brought us this far.
From SGBV prevention and response to SRHR, economic strengthening, purpose discovery, and more, we’ve spent a decade empowering communities, mentoring young people, and creating lasting impact.
This is where it all began. This is the TFT story!
As we kick off the Strengthening Community-Based SGBV Prevention and Referral Systems Project, let’s take you deeper into our plans and how we intend to drive impact across six LGAs in Adamawa State.
Our approach goes beyond awareness. We’ll be sensitising communities, strengthening prevention efforts, improving referral and follow-up systems, and programming directly for SGBV survivors to ensure they can access the care, protection, and support services they need.
From identifying survivors and connecting them to appropriate services to strengthening the systems that support their recovery, we’re committed to ensuring no survivor is left without the care and support they need.
Together, we’re strengthening community-based systems and creating safer, more responsive communities for survivors.
