🧫 Micro-algae encapsulated in small gel pearls drive JiTiBa’s modular water-treatment system.

Their Algaefyer MK.2 is engineered to strip contaminants from sewage sludge while reclaiming valuable raw materials.

Bridging biology, environmental engineering, and industrial design, the startup pulls their laboratory research out of academia and onto practical applications. Equipped with modular maintenance bays and precision flow controls, the system is built to prove that bio-filtration can scale.

🫥📡 Simon Weckert’s Digital Camouflage uses textile patterns to trick AI surveillance cameras monitoring public space.

The garment’s hypnotic patterns cause tracking algorithms to misread human figures, rendering the wearer invisible to the machine.

Rather than promising total anonymity or evasion, Digital Camouflage acts as a wearable protest against the non-consensual automated processing of our bodies in the city.

*The Demonstrations use a generic open-source object-detection system. The work makes no claim about any specific government system, which is precisely the point, as closed surveillance networks remain impossible for the public to test.

🩺 Resembling an intestine from the outside, Atelier Van Lieshout’s walk-in Colonic Cleansing Clinic questions how preventative care and bodily recovery can be woven directly into daily life.

🛝 Through colour, tactile materials, and sensory elements, Studio Kars en Boom × RAUM craft a mobile play area where children of all abilities can explore side by side.

🗜️🌾 Using only reed and wood, Natasja van der Meer crafts plant-based, fully compostable furniture held together purely through traditional joinery—no glue, no screws.

The materials tell an ecological story: the reed is harvested in the Naardermeer—a protected wetland mowed annually to protect bird and insect habitats—alongside one of the Netherlands’ last professional reed cutters. The structural wood is salvaged from local fallen trees. Natural material logic dictates the form.
