Are you curious how you can feel better and maintain your wellbeing? Tom Voortman is currently working on his master’s thesis in Health Psychology and Technology, finding out what is effective and how.
His research is about finding out why wellbeing exercises such as mindfulness, autobiographical reflection and positive psychology work on both the quality of sleep and coping with stress. By having students following a wellbeing course, and practicing with these exercises, Tom wants to find out what the effects are on several aspects of sleep, stress and general wellbeing.

Inbar Atzmon and Nese Baz are exploring how service chatbot design influences user satisfaction and engagement.
In the first phase, they are running an online study where participants interact with different chatbots and rate their experience 💻 Next up: an eye-tracking study 👀 to see how users visually engage with chatbot interfaces.
By combining survey and gaze data, the project will help design more intuitive, satisfying conversational agents.

For her Master’s thesis in Interaction Technology, Kim is exploring how smartwatches can support the monitoring and treatment of people detoxing from opioids, benzodiazepines, and alcohol.
As part of the Detox@Home project, participants at Radboudumc wear an EmbracePlus smartwatch that collects data throughout detoxification. Kim connects this data to daily assessments to see if withdrawal symptoms can be detected automatically with machine learning.
Her goal: to make detoxing at home safer, more personalized, and more effective.
