Do you want to make our race car fully autonomous?

We are looking for programmers, mathematicians, computer, electrical, or general engineers, or those who are passionate about robotics, microcontrollers, and sensors. Our Driverless team has a place for YOU!

The software you will help develop will allow the car to drive, recognize its surroundings, and map the circuit. Our team currently is working on the following three engineering tracks:

Sensory Track: Build, explore, and experiment with different sensor figurations that can improve the accuracy and speed of our RC car, and transition these wire harnesses from our RC car to the main car.

Simulation Track: Work with Unreal Engine Five with reinforcement learning AI, optimize vehicle physics/car modeling, and upgrade path planning software and algorithms.

Autonomous RC Car Track: Work on LiDAR and AI model placement while utilizing ROS 2 to build an intelligent brain behind our vehicle with smart software path planning, making our RC truly competitive.

Choose a track of your liking and level up your skills through real-world projects and teamwork. Accelerate your software career and personal development by working in C, Python, microcontrollers, Git workflows, and Linux systems alongside project management and planning.

We were in France for a little while, but now we’re back!

💙From the 24th until the 29th of August, the Hanze Racing Division, together with 52 other Student Formula teams, joined the FS international engineering competition in Lyon, France.

Formula Student encourages passionate teams from around the world to lead the path towards the future of mobility, giving them the chance to join and present their ideas through business, engineering, and innovation. As an international team that not only designs, produces, and assembles a race car but also provides knowledge to students across other professional areas, we had to give this one a go! 🏎️

Transpolis provided us the opportunity to showcase what our team has been working on through static events that included both presentations and case studies, from business plans to cost and manufacturing showcases. We proudly explained and defended our technical and business decisions to the judges, demonstrating our vision, commitment, and long-term goals.

🏅The trophies achieved, including 2nd place in cost and manufacturing as well as 3rd place in engineering and design, are a testament to the hard work and dedication our team carries, bringing us to 3rd place overall in the concept class. Competing against other talented teams has shown our team that this is only the beginning, motivating us to keep working harder towards our vision and mission as a Student Formula team.

Moving from competition to knowledge, several workshops provided us with valuable insights from professionals within the industry. But most importantly, FS France allowed us to create unforgettable memories, experiences, and friendships beyond the track. 🤍

Thank you to all the organizers FS France , volunteers, partners, judges, supporters, and everyone who made this experience possible. Hanze Racing Division is grateful for everything we learned and achieved throughout the week.

🏎️💙 On June 6th, we had the incredible opportunity to get behind the wheel of the HRD04 during a special driving event organized in collaboration with the Alumni Association!

On the 12th of May, Hanze Racing Division together with GLiTCH had an amazing Mario Kart & Sim Racing evening! 🏎️🎮

GLiTCH, a student association focused on gaming and connecting students through fun events, helped create an unforgettable atmosphere full of energy, laughter, and exciting races throughout the evening. 🏁

It was a great opportunity to network, meet new people, and enjoy some friendly competition together. We were really happy to connect with so many fellow students and compete in Mario Kart together.
