Cursed opals? π» Anyone?
π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
Many Victorians believed that opals were unlucky and could bring misfortune to their owners. This superstition became especially popular after the publication of Sir Walter Scottβs novel βAnne of Geiersteinβ in 1829. As a result, people avoided buying or wearing opal jewellery because they feared it was cursed. Over time, this belief faded, and today opals are admired for their beauty and rarity π
Soβ¦ anyone feeling lucky? π
