USC Santapod 2026

Unfortunately I lost E-1 today, knowing there was a chance of losing, due to the car not being 100% healthy. When I ran the 9.9 seconds on Friday the coolant spit out of the radiator cap. Thanks to Calvin I got a stronger cap. However when we decided to torque the headbolts, Matt found a loose stud, took it out and the thread was pulled out of the bottom. We put it back in, torqued it to 7 ft pound and just send it for E-1. Halfway the run the car went into safe mode cause the head must have lifted, which made me lose power.

But.. we did a 9 so it's all good 🤷‍♀️ And even better.. we also did a 60ft PB on the E-1 run, 1.57 sec. Which means it could've been a 9.8 😵‍💫

We got there. We set up. We even queued up for the technical inspection, but decided to turn around last minute and check the car. The car makes a "ticking" sound. After a full day off ruling out everything, we decided to take this weekend as a loss. I don't want to damage the car, so rather safe than sorry. We will be taking it apart next week to see what the issue is, and hopefully we will be ready in time for USC Santapod 🥹

Made the switch to a Turbosmart 6466 and had a few upgrades done. Converted the boost pipe to a v-band connection and had a new boostpipe welded, fabricated a new 3 inch v-band flanged hood exit and installed a new radiator with 16AN fittings.

A big thank you to Erik Messink Rolkooien for fitting me into their schedule on such short notice and getting everything done so the car is ready for the next race. If you need anything rollcage/ welding related, he is the man!

All that's left is a new tune and alignment 😁
