Synchroon - Maak het verschil introduces DO-KA. A new destination for ideas and creation, working and connecting.
nieuwegein is the new name and chapter for the old soap factory in Nieuwegein and it’s surrounding area. A place where events, leisure, studio spaces and offices come together to offer locals a new space to connect and share.

Short for ‘Doorslag’ and ‘kanaal’, DO-KA is placed in between two waterways. That space ‘in between’ functions as its core concept. Between experiment and regiment, between known and the unknown.

DO-KA will grow with the help of input from current and future participants. Its final outcome is not yet decided. Programming, events, workspaces, hospitality, everything will take shape over the coming months and the next 5 years.

30 years of AkzoNobel Art Foundation 🎉💫

In 2025 we worked together with the lovely people of to design a new logo for their production company. The name Baldr comes from the norse god of light. The static logo design visualises light beams in its outward composition. Besides a corporate static logo we were asked to create a logo animation that can be used on movie promotion and in movie credits.

Our aim was to capture the craft of film making and production in a handmade logotype. We used physical letter pressings with ink in a variety of densities to create multiple letter characters. By stamping, overlaying and switching between multiple densities of letter shapes we play around with light and dark. Almost resembling a flickering lightbulb.

A young businessman, caught in the pulse of the city, dreams of breaking free from the cold geometry that surrounds him.

A while ago we worked together with on type design for his new film ‘Silent Embrace’, a film exploration of body movement against hostile urban design 🏙️

Set in Amsterdam, the short film examines how hostile architecture shapes movement, behavior, and presence within the city. Through choreography and physical interaction, benches, barriers, and urban fixtures become more than neutral objects, revealing how public space quietly guides, limits, and redirects the body.

You have your own perspective on design and are able to convincingly take colleagues and clients along in your process, and you can explain your design choices clearly and persuasively. You do not work from trends or templates, but from content and context. You ask critical questions, including to yourself.
