24. august 2026 besøkte ledere fra flere ungdomspartier med moderpartier på Stortinget Edvard Grieg-feltet vest for Stavanger. Politikerne fikk oppleve hele reisen offshore: å ta på seg overlevingsdrakten som er standard for offshoreflyvning, få omvisning på plattformen, spise lunsj om bord med ansatte, se lugarene der ansatte bor når de er på jobb, og besøke hjertet av plattformen, kontrollrommet. PWP Flare Successfully Installed on Valhall

Another important milestone has been reached in the Valhall PWP-Fenris project.

The 130-metre flare, built in Sandnessjøen and standing taller than Oslo Plaza, has now been safely installed on the new PWP topside at Valhall.

The flare is a key part of the platform’s safety system, ensuring the safe handling and controlled burning of excess gas during start-ups, shutdowns and other operational situations.

Built by Aker Solutions in Sandnessjøen, this delivery demonstrates what the local industry can achieve through precision, expertise and craftsmanship. From the first steel cut in 2025 to successful offshore installation, this has been a true team effort.

Valhall PWP safely installed offshore
Last week, the Valhall PWP topside left Aker Solutions yard at Stord. Now, it has been safely installed on the Valhall field, marking a major milestone in the Valhall PWP-Fenris development.

The installation marks an important step in the continued development of the Valhall field and bringing the Fenris gas discovery on stream. The new platform will connect the Valhall and Fenris fields, more than doubling the area’s gas processing capacity and helping to secure energy supply, value creation and production from the Valhall area for decades to come.

The project has involved 17 yards and fabrication sites. From the jacket delivered by Aker Solutions in Verdal and the wellbay module from Drydocks World in Dubai, to the flare tower from Aker Solutions in Sandnessjøen, the utility module from Worley Rosenberg in Stavanger and the bridge and MEG module from Nymo in Grimstad, each delivery has played an important role before final assembly and integration at Stord.

This milestone reflects the efforts of teams across the entire value chain, working together as OneTeam to deliver safely, on time and with quality.
