ExploRana AS wants to be the largest and best experience company on Helgeland. We want to have the most specialists associated with the company, know the most about the destinations and people where we guide. We want to have the most guides, the most destinations and be the most used experience company. He was born and raised in Sandsvær in Kongsberg municipality, but over 20 years ago he was up here with a friend on grouse hunting. The count on the hunt was very good - in every way. Over 20 years later he is married, has 4 children and is still hunting birds! After having a stroke in 2010, he returned to tourism and worked for a few years in the destination company Helgeland Reiseliv. Here he quickly realized that Rana has problems with "keeping" the tourists here more than 1 night, and wanted to do something about it. Therefore, ExploRana AS uses all its efforts to make Mo I Rana known and put on the map. The passion for storytelling is something we value highly in ExploRana. We want to maintain the storytelling "by the fire". We are all a little above average interested in history, and Robert's father was also a guerrilla leader in his home village during World War II. Another thing that is important to us is the respect for the Sami people and their traditions, as well as their connection to Rana. That is why we work closely with the Sami community in Rana, at the same time as we make their traditions known on their terms. Why should I have a guide with me on a trip? Of course you can go for a walk yourself. But it may not be as easy to find the best places alone, or know where to go. We help you with that, and of course we always have a story lurking, whether it's about the place we are or the people who have been here before us. We were either born and raised here or have lived here for so long that we have learned the stories. Feel free to call us pearl divers, because that's who we are!
