The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is the global standard for the good governan
We believe that a country’s natural resources belong to its citizens. Our mission is to promote understanding of natural resource management, strengthen public and corporate governance and provide the data to inform greater transparency and accountability in the extractives sector. By becoming members of the EITI, 55 countries have committed to disclose information along the extractive industry value chain – from how extraction rights are awarded, to how revenues make their way through the government and how they benefit the public. Through participation in the EITI, countries agree to a common set of rules governing what has to be disclosed and when – the EITI Standard. In each country that has joined the EITI, a multi-stakeholder group, composed of government, companies and civil society supports implementation of the EITI Standard.

🤝 Today, EITI and the World Gold Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen and governance in artisanal and small-scale gold mining, with a focus on formalisation, traceability and responsible supply chains. We look forward to advancing this work together!

📣 Solomon Islands rejoins the EITI! 🇸🇧
becomes the 56th country to implement the , and the sixth in the Asia-Pacific region.
The country’s renewed engagement with the EITI comes as its mining sector grows in scale and importance.
EITI implementation will support stronger governance, revenue transparency and public oversight, helping inform public debate about how the country’s mineral resources are managed.
