Global Network for Rights and Development

In light of changes in the international arena and as the result of a series of studies and meetings, the GNRD founders realized the necessity to establish an international organization with the aim to promote the application of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to enhance the control over the relief cooperation programs, policies and technical assistance by establishing cooperation and communication between all stakeholders, as most of the existing organizations implement their activities without a direct contact with the other concerned parties. Thus, the Global Network for Rights and Development (GNRD) was established on 7 June 2008 in Norway in order to make progress and real changes in the concepts of the human rights promotion and development; to focus on human rights that have been neglected at the international level; and to enhance the human rights principle directions through the programs in all sectors, such as health, education, governance, nutrition, water, environmental remediation, AIDS, employment and labor relations, and social and economic security.
