Jofre Oliveras for Nuart Aberdeen 2022, produced on the car park at the side of Aberdeen’s Mosque thanks to the wonderful support of the local Imam. A powerful critique on how power uses and abuses “flag nationalism” to manipulate the populace into a state of fear and anxiety of “the other”, blinded by the flag into ignorance. Hundreds of of works, poems, projects and events went up over the last 14 days of Nuart and yet it was this little innocuous gem down a side alley off a main through road between an Indian restaurant and a lapdance club that resonated most with me today. A glimmer in a sea of triggers. The only solution, F**k Art, Let’s Dance, tonight at Exodus between 11-3pm for sad souls in need of a dance !
