The NGO Federation of Nepal (NFN), Lumbini Province, convened a high-level expert consultation in Devdaha Municipality, Rupandehi, to examine contemporary issues affecting civic space, with a particular focus on youth engagement and inclusion.
Chaired by NFN Lumbini Province Committee President Jit Kumari Belbase, the meeting brought together a diverse panel of stakeholders, including NFN Central Committee Vice-Chairperson Sanjay Lamsal; Senior Officer of Law and Human Rights for Lumbini Province, Ajit Thakur; academic researcher Dr. Om Prakash Aryal; Advocate Gomati Sunar; Jigyasha Chaudhary of the LGBTIQ Federation, Provincial Chapter; Provincial Youth Citizen Forum Co-Coordinator Astha B.K.; human rights defender Resham Neupane; journalist Basant Banjade; NFN Lumbini Vice-Incharge and SCDC representative Thakur Ghimire; youth campaigner Subham Devkota; and CSO leader Bishnu Timilsina, among other experts. The proceedings were skillfully facilitated by NFN Provincial Project Coordinator Keshav Bhusal.

SCDC Nepal invites applications from qualified individual consultants/experts or consulting firms to conduct an independent Institutional Social Audit of the "Quality Education through Community Mobilization in Bardaghat" project.
The assignment will include review of project implementation, transparency, accountability, stakeholder participation, project results, field consultations, a public Social Audit event, and preparation of draft and final reports. Detailed scope, methodology, qualifications and deliverables are provided in the Terms of Reference (ToR).

🌿 Green Day Celebration 2026 🌱

As part of the Green Youth Entrepreneurship for Active Citizenship project, Green Day was successfully celebrated in collaboration with Shree Bhabisyanirman Secondary School, Shree Mahamaya Bhawani Secondary School, Shree Sita Secondary School, Shree Janpriya Secondary School, and Shree Kerwani Secondary School.

Green Group students proudly shared their learning and experiences with Grade 6 and 7 students through student-led activities, environmental awareness sessions, and tree plantation. The celebration encouraged youth leadership and inspired the school community to take collective action towards a greener and more sustainable future.

बर्दघाटमा गुणस्तरीय शिक्षा र सक्रिय नागरिकताका लागि नयाँ यात्राको शुभारम्भ !!

समृद्ध समुदाय विकास केन्द्र नेपाल (SCDC Nepal) ले Bardaghat Municipality बर्दघाट नगरपालिकाका सबै ३४ वटा सामुदायिक विद्यालयलाई समेट्ने गरी “Quality Education and Active Citizenship in Bardaghat”परियोजना सञ्चालनको तयारी औपचारिक रूपमा अघि बढाएको छ।

यसै सन्दर्भमा SCDC Nepal कार्य समिति तथा नयाँ परियोजना कर्मचारीहरूको सहभागितामा अभिमुखीकरण तथा संयुक्त योजना सत्र सम्पन्न गरिएको छ। परियोजनाको उद्देश्य, कार्यदिशा, भूमिका तथा जिम्मेवारी, संस्थागत जवाफदेहिता, वित्तीय अनुशासन, बाल संरक्षण, प्रतिवेदन प्रणाली र आगामी कार्य प्राथमिकताबारे साझा समझदारी कायम गरिएको थियो।

यस परियोजनाले शिक्षण–सिकाइको गुणस्तर सुधार, शिक्षक सहयोग तथा Mentor Teacher System सुदृढीकरण, बाल क्लब सक्रियता, अभिभावक सहभागिता, विद्यालय सुशासन र स्थानीय तहसँगको सहकार्यलाई केन्द्रमा राख्नेछ।

स्पष्ट जिम्मेवारी र साझा प्रतिबद्धतासहित SCDC Nepal बर्दघाटको शिक्षा क्षेत्रमा दिगो, उत्तरदायी र परिणाममुखी परिवर्तनका लागि अघि बढेको छ।

SCDC Nepal and eight schools of Bardaghat Municipality have signed agreements to establish school kitchen gardens. The initiative brings together local government, schools, communities and child club leaders to promote practical learning.

The gardens will strengthen nutrition awareness, environmental responsibility, teamwork and child leadership.

🌿 Green Seminar 2026 🌍

We successfully conducted a 2-Day Green Seminar under the Green Youth Entrepreneurship for Active Citizenship project, bringing together young people to explore climate change, climate resilience, and green entrepreneurship.

Through interactive discussions, group activities, idea generation, prototype development, and action planning, participants strengthened their understanding of environmental challenges while developing innovative and sustainable business ideas. Each group also developed a one-year action plan to turn their ideas into practical initiatives within their schools and communities.

Together, we are empowering youth to become changemakers for a greener and more sustainable future. 💚🌱
