The Udaaya Samaj consisting of nine caste groups was formed in NS 1117 with the express aim of preserving and reforming Udaaya Social customs and traditions. Jayasthiti Malla, a fifteen century King, divided the Udaaya group into nine occupationals groups. Bania (local trader and ayurvedic pharmaceutic)
2. Kansakar (bronze metal worker)
3. Shikrakar (tile roof builders and roof repairer)
4. Silalik (cater of sweet meats)
6. Sindurakar ( weaver of special cloth for making dresses for dieties)
7. Sthapit (Carpenters)
8. Tamrakar (Copper metal worker)
9. Tuladhar (meaning scale-holders)
