National women’s cricketer Manisha Upadhyaya, who has been making significant contributions to Nepali cricket through her outstanding performances, has been honoured by the Late Rama Devi Memorial Cricket Cup with cricket equipment worth NPR 60,000.

The cricket kit was presented in recognition of Manisha’s contribution to Nepali cricket, her continuous hard work, and her excellent performances.

According to the organizers, the honour aims to encourage her dedication to cricket and support her journey toward achieving even greater success in the days ahead.

For the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), Biratnagar Kings have re-signed Indian-origin American international cricketer Shubham Ranjane to their squad.

Ranjane delivered an impressive performance for Biratnagar Kings in the second edition of the NPL. He scored 87 runs in four matches, making a valuable contribution to the team’s batting lineup. He recorded a batting average of 29.00 and a strike rate of 129.85. During the tournament, he struck five fours and four sixes.

Nepal Premier League (NPL) franchise team Biratnagar Kings has selected five young cricketers from the “Dream to Play” U-23 T20 cricket tournament for the team’s preparatory camp. The selected players are Amar Yadav, Dhawan Sahani, Ayush Neupane, Kabiraj Khatri, and Nepal U-16 cricketer Suyog Bhattarai. They will take part in Biratnagar Kings’ preparatory camp starting on September 29 at the Purvanchal Cricket Academy in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Indra Jatra officially commenced on Wednesday with the ceremonial er****on of the traditional Lingo in front of Hanuman Dhoka at Basantapur, Kathmandu. The festival is among the most prominent cultural celebrations of the Kathmandu Valley.

Locally known as ‘Yenya’ or ‘Yenya Punhi’, the festival features the chariot processions of Kumari, Ganesh and Bhairav, along with traditional dances, music, cultural performances and religious rituals.
