The Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS) proudly presents two landmark publications.
IIDS White Paper 2026: Nepal's Economy under the New Normal offers a multidimensional, evidence-based diagnosis of Nepal's current economic condition at a critical juncture — mapping structural paradoxes and compounding risks across the macroeconomic, financial, demographic, and fiscal landscape.
Development Strategy for Vision 2100 builds on this diagnosis, setting out the policy architecture, sectoral priorities, and institutional reforms needed to shift Nepal from a remittance-dependent, consumption-driven model toward a productive, investment-led, and globally integrated economy.

How can Nepal's foreign policy better support its economic ambitions?
On 9 June, IIDS presented its Economic Diplomacy Strategy Framework to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussion focused on four priorities for Nepal's engagement with the world: diaspora-driven growth, investment beyond remittances, partnerships in research and innovation, and weightless and borderless trade.
As Nepal navigates an increasingly connected global economy, economic diplomacy will play a critical role in driving growth and creating opportunity.
