Geomatics is an engineering discipline that deals mainly with study of shape and size of earth (Geodesy), acquisition, processing and analysis of geospatial data and dissemination and distribution of geo-spatial information(SIS). Geomatics engineering is an emerging engineering discipline which mainly rely on geographic information aka geospatial information (that is defined by location in space) and earth science. Major area of geomatics engineering include engineering surveying, spatial information system and management, spatial planning and management, positioning and management, hydrographic surveys, cadastre and land management, remote sensing, construction planning and management as well as astronomic positioning.

Deep in the Sahara Desert of Mauritania lies the Richat Structure, a spectacular geological formation nearly 50 km wide. ๐
Its concentric rings make it look like a giant eye from space, but this landscape was shaped by geological uplift, erosion, and millions of years of weathering.
Once thought to be an impact crater, the Richat Structure is now understood as a deeply eroded geological dome.

Nepal may look small on the world map, but its elevation changes are truly remarkable. From the lowland Terai plains at around 60 m above sea level to Mount Everest at 8,849 m, the country spans almost 8.8 km of vertical elevation within a relatively narrow northโsouth distance.
This dramatic rise creates an incredible range of landscapes and climates, from tropical forests and fertile plains to hills, alpine valleys, glaciers, and the highest mountains on Earth. In just a few hundred kilometres, Nepal essentially takes you from near sea-level environments to the top of the world.
