Our one-week Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) training program was successfully completed in the presence of Mr. Scott Hamilton, President of Dooley InterMed, and a dedicated team of doctors from the United States.

The program was further honored by the presence of Dr. Jamun Prasad Singh, Executive Director of Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences, who emphasized the critical role of capacity-building trainings for FCHVs in improving community health outcomes across Madhesh Province. Mr. Binay Kumar Yadav, Mayor of Nagarain Municipality, also expressed his sincere gratitude for organizing such an impactful training in his municipality.

This intensive training was provided to 20 outstanding FCHVs selected from four municipalities and rural municipalities of Dhanusha District.
Notably, this is the first-ever one-week comprehensive training for FCHVs, covering essential areas such as:
• Vital health check-ups
• Non-communicable diseases
• Nutrition
• Gynecology
• Eye care
• Disease prevention and referral systems

All participating FCHVs received transportation allowances and complete training kits. Many FCHVs shared that despite serving their communities for over 25 years, this was the most practical and effective training they had ever received—especially with the provision of essential medical equipment.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dooley Intermed for their continued support in making such meaningful programs possible. Special thanks to Reiyukai Eiko Masunaga Eye Hospital for excellent local coordination, logistics, and skilled trainers, and most importantly, to the dedicated and enthusiastic FCHVs who are the backbone of community health.

Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) Training Program 🩺👩‍⚕️⛑️

In Nepal’s rural communities, Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) serve as the first point of contact for families facing health concerns. They play a vital role in maternal and child health, basic first aid, community awareness, and disease prevention. However, due to limited training and resources, their ability to serve is often restricted.

To strengthen their capacity, Heart To Help has been conducting one-week advanced training programs for FCHVs across the country, with full financial support from Dooley InterMed.

We’re grateful to share that one of our ongoing training sessions is currently happening in Janakpur, bringing together FCHVs from:
• Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City
• Nagrain Municipality
• Laxmi Niya Rural Municipality
• Matihani Municipality
