Shared values of responding to the needs of their clients at a difficult time, giving back to their local community and creating unique memorable celebrations, has led to a ‘perfect match’ between Central Otago’s leading funeral directors Affinity and the region’s oldest family-run funeral business Campbell & Sons in Mosgiel. Affinity was started in 2009 by friends and Alexandra locals Janice Millis and Lynley Claridge after the death of seven close family members prompted Lynley to think about setting up the business. The merger began in 2020 with both businesses learning from each other and coming together with a goal to provide the best standard of funeral care across Otago. This has included upskilling staff, with additional training in best practices, hiring new people, streamlining administration, including centralising design and printing, and upgrading Affinity’s venue, The Cellar Door.

With a loving heart we had farewelled our Mum on Monday, September 14, 2026; from her home at Elmslie House in Wanaka.
All our love and gratitude for the support, friendship and care that Mum received especially the humour, shared experiences and empathy. In the coming weeks we would love to share and afternoon tea in remembrance at Elmslie.

August 1930 - September 2026
Wife of the late Barry, mother of Ken and Fiona (Australia) and Ray (Wanaka), Grandma of Rachael, Neil, Emma, Andrea, Megan and Hannah, Great Grandma to nine and Great Great Grandma to one.
Mavis passed peacefully at Aspiring care following a short illness at the age of 96. A private family service has taken place.
Much loved and forever missed.

Nevill, Nola Margaret
It is with broken hearts that we let you know Nola passed peacefully at home, in the loving care of her family, on 14 September 2026, aged 79 years.
A loved and treasured wife of the late Geoff, Mum and Mother-in-law of Russell and Lisa, Carol and Phil, Lauren and Stefan. An adored Gran of Darcy and Jed, Duncan and Zoe, and Lucca and Caleb. A special friend to Edward.
A memorial service to celebrate Nola’s life will be held at The Alexandra District Club, 11am, on Friday 18 September 2026.

Of Branch Creek, Cardrona, Wanaka. Passed peacefully at Leslie Groves Hospital, Dunedin early on Sunday morning, August 23, 2026; aged 80 years and four days.
Much loved and cherished wife of Raymond Eric (Ray) for 54 years, loved mother and mother-in-law of Isabella and Glen (Branch Creek, Cardrona), Barbara and Ralf (Carey’s Bay, Port Chalmers), and Natasha and Des (Branch Creek, Cardrona), cherished Granny of Jessie, Brianna, Jacob, and Caitlyn (Branch Creek, Cardrona) and
partners, loved daughter of Hazel Cook* (née Gait) and Thomas Ernest Cook*, daughter-in-Law to Eric William* and Mary Jane (Jean) Anderson*, and sister to Felicity, Helen, Thomas, and Stephen* cousin to Alan and Hazel Eatwell and Aunty to Monica Prescott, Ben Eatwell, and Morgan, Simon, and Lockie Cook.

Much loved carer and caterer to countless cats, dogs, sheep, alpaca, calves, baby birds, and strays of any description. She will be missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Taieri Unit Leslie Groves, and Lisa Barlow (Chaplain) for the care and compassion shown to Mary during her time in Dunedin.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held in the Cardrona

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 4, 2026; Aged 74 years.
Much loved husband of Philippa, dearly loved father of Sarah, Charles and Lucy, and adored Poppa of Arthur, Edward and George.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, storytelling and a remarkable medical career that helped so many.
A celebration of Henry's life will be held at the Wanaka Community Hub, 34 McDougall Street, Wānaka, at 3pm, on Saturday August 15.
