We are proud to see Wellington Hospital's new $6 million linear accelerator now in service, providing faster, more advanced radiation therapy for cancer patients across the lower North Island. The investment represents another important step forward in delivering world-class cancer care in New Zealand.

Focusplan was privileged to be the design and fitout partner for the LINAC bunker that houses this state-of-the-art Varian treatment system. Delivering spaces like these requires exceptional collaboration, precision, and a shared commitment to patient outcomes.

A sincere thank you to Jack Wootton from Octa and Lynne Greig from Health NZ for placing their trust in Focusplan to deliver this critical project. It was a pleasure working alongside such a committed team.

Another week of steady progress across all of our project sites!

Our Molecular Imaging facility in Palmerston North is nearing completion as the team prepares for the delivery of the PET machine at the end of the week - a significant step forward for the project!

Over at our Imaging fitout site at Newmarket, the first sections of wall framing are now going up, allowing key modality rooms to take shape.

Meanwhile, our Hamilton ophthalmology site has progressed through the wall lining stage, with painting now underway.

It's exciting to see these spaces turn from concept to reality, and we can't wait to see the impact they have for patients and staff across each region.

👀A sneak peek at what's coming next...

Momentum is building across Focusplan projects nationwide, with a surgical facility in Auckland and an imaging centre in Christchurch both progressing through the early stages of base build construction. The team has also recently mobilised on another Auckland project, with demolition now complete on a 3,600sqm site to enable a new comprehensive imaging clinic fitout.

It's exciting to see these projects taking shape and moving closer to becoming world-class healthcare facilities.

Another milestone reached on our Palmerston North site! 🚀

After completing demolition of the original site, the Canopy Imaging project has moved swiftly through the early construction phases and we are now up to the wall lining stage – a milestone that brings the planning and design to life and gives a clear sense of the finished space.

Working alongside Colspec, the focus remains on quality delivery and strong on-site coordination as the build continues to take shape.

We’re looking forward to sharing the finished outcome in mid-July!

📢Project Spotlight: Canopy Cancer Care Epsom

Every so often, a past project deserves a fresh spotlight – and Canopy Cancer Care’s Epsom fitout is no exception.

Featuring five consult rooms, and a carefully considered clinical layout, the space was designed in partnership with Jane Pilkington to feel calming and welcoming from the moment patients arrive. In line with Canopy’s high standards of care, the fitout incorporates luxurious, high-quality finishes that enhance comfort and wellbeing.

Given the heritage of the Mercy (now Allevia) Ascot building, original architectural elements were thoughtfully integrated into the design, creating a connection between the clinic’s modern functionality and the building’s historic character.
