MiniDale Explorers

Sensory play, we’ve got it covered! ✨

What an awesome set-up created by one of our wonderful kaiako, following our tamariki’s interests and turning them into meaningful learning through play.

Experiences like this open up a whole world of curiosity, questions and conversations, while also supporting our tamariki to practise taking turns, explore alongside one another and simply enjoy each other’s company.

Learning happens in so many beautiful ways when we follow the interests of our tamariki and give them the time, space and resources to explore.

Observational art-
Today our tamariki explored observational painting, using flowers as their inspiration for their beautiful creations. They looked closely at the different colours, shapes and details they were encourage to observe and represent what they could see in their own unique way.

Spring exploration in the Pioneers room 💖

🌼🐝 Exploring Spring! 🐝🌼

As we welcome the warmer days of spring, we’ve been exploring the beautiful world around us and learning all about flowers, bees and their important job! 🌸

Our bee hive sensory tuff tray gave our tamariki the opportunity to investigate how bees collect nectar from flowers and help our gardens grow, while engaging in lots of scooping, pouring, transferring and sensory exploration using rice, flowers and bee resources. 🐝🍯

We love following the interests of our tamariki and using them to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, discovery and a love for learning. 💛🌱

🌿 Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori 🌿

Starting our week with waiata, poi and lots of movement 🤍

Today our tamariki explored different waiata using the poi and had the opportunity to wear piupiu, experiencing te ao Māori through music, movement and play.

A beautiful way to begin a week of celebrating and strengthening te reo Māori throughout our everyday moments. 🌿✨

Kia kaha te reo Māori!

Happy Friday! And remember! Don’t worry about a thing, cos every little thing is gunna be alright. What a wonderful way to end our week 💖
