MiniDale Explorers
We are a beautiful purpose built Child Care Centre in Milldale designed to suit the needs of children
Tiny hands, big imaginations ✨🐛 Our tamariki explored colour and creativity while creating their very own catterpilars!
“He kākano ahau i ruia mai i Rangiātea.”
I am a seed sown from Rangiātea.
Just like the flowers we planted today, our tamariki are growing a little more each day.
Our Discoverers and Creators loved getting their hands in the soil, planting colourful blooms, watering them with care, and showing respect for Papatūānuku. These moments remind us that when children are given time to connect with nature, they grow confidence, responsibility, and a deep sense of belonging.
Sliding into Wednesday, filling the playground with so much joy!

What a wonderful afternoon we had celebrating Matariki with our amazing MiniDales Whanau. Thank you to everyone for being so involved we are truly so lucky to have such a wonderful community. ✨✨✨
One of our wonderful kaiako gifted us a beautiful, big pumpkin to explore today!
Our tamariki worked together to carefully scoop out all of the seeds, discovering the different textures, smells, and colours along the way. Once the seeds are dry, we’ll be returning them to the wonderful farm the pumpkin came from, giving back and completing the cycle of growth.
Now for the exciting part… Watch this space to see how we repurpose this amazing vegetable at our Matariki celebrations tomorrow. We can’t wait to share what our tamariki create!
A huge thank you to Rowena from **Te Whatu Ora – Auckland Regional Dental Services for coming in and doing such a fantastic mat time with our tamariki this morning, we are so lucky.
The children had so much fun learning all about how to keep their teeth strong and healthy. We really appreciate you taking the time to spend the morning with us, sharing your knowledge, and making oral health education so engaging and enjoyable.
Thank you again for helping our tamariki build healthy habits that will last a lifetime!
What a special day we had on our walk to Summerset Retirement Village with our adventurers Whanau.
We had an absolute blast spending time with the residents, creating beautiful Matariki crafts, sharing our waiata, enjoying some delicious kai together, and making wonderful memories.
These moments remind us how important it is to build meaningful connections across generations. Through laughter, conversation, creativity, and kindness, we continue to strengthen our communication, grow our relationships, and celebrate the true spirit of Matariki with our wider community.
Thank you to everyone at Summerset for your warm welcome and for sharing this special time with us.
