Transformed into an attractive green space ✅

We recently celebrated the completion of Te Auaunga ki Tai Stormwater Reserve alongside mana whenua, project partners and the local community. The name, gifted by mana whenua, means "Te Auaunga towards the sea" and acknowledges Te Auaunga Awa (Oakley Creek). As a tūpuna awa (ancestral stream), Te Auaunga has long held significant cultural, spiritual and ecological value.

The project has restored and enhanced a section of this important waterway, helping reconnect people with a part of the landscape that was previously hidden from view. All while improving important infrastructure for current and future generations living in the area.

Community creativity is shining in Waikōwhai!
Local schools, youth groups and residents have turned development fencing into vibrant artwork that reflects the stories, culture and identity of the neighbourhood.

Community Art Brings Colour and Connection to Waikōwhai | Roskill Development A community-led art project has transformed temporary construction fencing across the Waikōwhai development area into vibrant displays of local creativity and pride.

It’s been a productive few months across the Roskill Development, with steady progress continuing in Waikōwhai, Ōwairaka and Roskill South.

Since opening its doors, the Ōwairaka Info Cube has been a welcoming place for conversations about the future of Ōwairaka and the progress of the local development. Now, with key stages of the development well underway, the Ōwairaka Info Cube has fulfilled its role and it’s time for the space to close.

The last day of opening will be tomorrow!
