Hard to believe it’s been a decade - but at the same time, we can’t really imagine CodeHQ without her.

Angela has been such a consistent presence over the years - super organised, incredibly detailed, and never afraid to speak her mind or give something new a go. Whether it’s delivering for clients, supporting others, or just being part of the team, she’s made a real impact.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming the New Zealand delegation to CodeHQ Vietnam!

At CodeHQ, we’re not just building serious software - we’re sharpening our AI skills through hands-on learning, collaboration, and a healthy dose of curiosity. Our latest team challenge is all about discovering how we can harness AI to build fun, creative games together.

Armed with nothing but AI prompts, some of the games already brought to life include:

🕹️ HangBot - a futuristic spin on HangMan, with more laughs and fewer nooses
🎯 Whack-a-Mole (and watch out for version 2: Whack-a-Codie - because why shouldn’t our developers dodge the hammer too?)
🧠 Memory Teasers that are making even our most seasoned devs break a mental sweat
🧩 And Sudoku, our favourite numbers game, to keep us all delightfully humble

It’s amazing what happens when you mix AI, friendly rivalry, and a bunch of talented techies. It’s fun, it’s collaborative, and best of all - it’s learning where everyone levels up.

Our NZ team showcased their culinary skills in an epic MasterChef challenge at Elemental Cooking School. From crafting flavourful Vietnamese dishes to finishing with a stunning croquembouche, the competition was fierce, but the fun (and food!) brought everyone together. At the end of the day, we were all winners, enjoying delicious creations and great company.

Our Vietnam team marked their 19th Anniversary in style by stepping away from their desks and embracing some friendly competition on the badminton and pickleball courts. 🏸🏅💪

The day ended on a high note with a delicious buffet feast, filled with laughter and fun—a perfect way to honor our shared journey and toast to all we've achieved together.
