Right Royal Rover Crew

Tonight we had a paint and sip night! We each decorated a plant pot with a design of our choice before we invested Arizona at the end of the evening!

We also had three visitors to come and see what all the Rover fun is about! Hopefully we’ll have some more investitures in the future!

BARNDANCE 2026! 🌾👩‍🌾🐴🐑

Holy moly what a day for Right Royal! Not only did we win VToW but we also won best crew costume at barndance with our homemade sheep costumes! 🐑

We had an absolute whirlwind (literally whirling around the hall) learning new dances and going back to some of the classics 🕺💃

This weekend Right Royal took on other Rover crews from round the country in the annual Valley Tour of Wellington!

This day included a scavenger hunt around Wellington. We had to find Wallies, signs, and complete challenges to gain points - so much that at the end of the day we totalled over 22,000 steps!!

But it paid off! Because for the first time ever Right Royal bought home the trophy winning BY ONE POINT!

Tonight we earnt our Kai Better World Badge!

We learnt where our food comes from and why we store foods certain ways before one of our Rovers ran an onion pickling class!

We did the first step to an experiment that involves observing mould growth on bread based on its storage conditions (in our case we different amount water to our bags). And of course we had to name them (see photos)

We learnt about different food practices and traditions in different religions and cultures including Kosher, Halal, Shrove Tuesday, Dia de los Mu***os, and the Lunar New Year.

To finish off the night we made a “Right Royal Vegetable Patch” by each making a vegetable to put on the wall and learning when they are in season to grow and a fun fact!

To help our local community we also did a food collection and donated food/goods that we will donate to a local food bank!

What an awesome night!

This week at Right Royal we kept ourselves warm and lit a fire in the brazier and cooked some old school damper and s’mores; Enjoying stories and each others company!

On Wednesday night we visited the Auckland Airport Emergency Services to earn our Emergency Services badge! 🚒🧯

We got to tour the fire station and learn how they prepare for and respond
to emergencies. We learnt about their daily/nightly responsibilities and what sort of training is required for the role. We talked about all the different types of vehicles they use to manage different types of terrains and situations including hovercrafts!

We also invited some local Venturers from St Heliers/Glendowie Group who joined us!

We put together a couple of hampers full of goodies to thank the officers and help them through their night shift. It was such an awesome opportunity!
