To give wetsuits a second life and enable kiwis to enjoy the ocean

We aim to give wetsuits a second life and enable less fortunate kiwis to live a better life through connection with the ocean.

A couple of weeks back, Sam and I headed deep into the wilds of Fiordland with the legends at . It was raw, rugged, and absolutely unreal.

The wild weather rolled through, the surf turned on, and we basically lived in our wetsuits for the week. Whether we were chasing empty waves, diving for kai, or wandering through that untouched coastline, our wetties kept us warm, protected, and fully immersed in the moment.

This kind of adventure is a big part of why we started Second Suits. It reminded us of how vital the ocean has been in our own lives—and how important it is to help others feel safe, confident, and connected out there too.

Not everyone has access to the ocean. Not everyone has the gear, or the confidence, or the chance to get out there. That’s what we’re trying to change. We take good wetsuits that are sitting in garages or on their way to landfill, and give them a new life—getting them to people who’ll use them, and need them.

So far, we’ve redistributed 400+ wetsuits across the motu—from the Hokianga to the East Cape and the Naki, to awesome groups like Restoke and Surfing for Farmers who are doing inspiring mahi reconnecting people with the ocean.

Got a wetsuit you’re not using? Donate it.
$5 sends a suit to someone who needs it.

Massive thanks to the FiordLord family—Waz, Lian, and wee man Louie—for welcoming us into your home and that truly special corner of the world. If you're looking for a place to reset and reconnect, We honestly can’t recommend this mission enough.

We're stoked to have some of our collection bins out in the world!

Big thanks to the awesome folks at Lion Beverages and ANZ Aotearoa for supporting our cause.

Special shout out to Matt and the crew at Sessions Matakana for being some of the first to get in touch and request a collection bin. If you're a local or in the area and have a perfectly good wetsuit that needs a new home, drop by and donate!

Give your wettie a second life and help less fortunate Kiwis connect with the ocean.
