This was our first daycare Sprint with the owner, teachers and parents participating in the process... the Sprint squad was fantastic - they were able to share their different experiences and align around one hypothetical solution rapidly πͺπͺπͺ Well done team!

What do you think of our Sprint setup? πβ€οΈ
Can Design Thinking be applied in a busy restaurant? π€·ββοΈ
π²
A few weeks ago, we facilitated a Design Thinking workshop at . We included the entire staff from the sous-chefs to managers.
π²
During peak times, the team faces high-stress associated with working in a busy and vibrant restaurant - we aimed to uncover the challenges, explore potential ideas and align the team with a common purpose.
π²
Our participants were somewhat hesitant at first - after all, spilling your guts in front of your boss/peers can be scary! We encouraged them to be real and open - keeping anonymity through the process usually does the trick π
π²
While prioritising the challenges, the director leaned over and whispered: "I wish they just shared that stuff with me - I could easily solve some of these issues myself!!". However, in a busy workplace, it's hard to find time to express what is or isn't working, especially when your team are always on the go keeping hungry customers happy!π»
π²
Challenges were picked, and ideas flowed... then it was time to create actionable steps to ensure that solutions were right for both business and team. Most important is they could actually be implemented and not shoved in a forgotten drawer.
π²
The director told us since the workshop ended, the team has been super comfortable coming forward with candid feedback and additional ideas to enhance service for both customers and employees.

The 3 of us laughed so much throughout this episode recording - it's amazing we got any work done at all! πππmale.nz and talked with the one and only "energiser bunny" ! Yaela started a multinational, multi-million dollar agency (by accident π) sold it and founded another company called the .e.ohm to help entrepreneurs and founders through the mysterious journey of starting a business. π¦π¦π¦
She tells us about the struggles setting a work-life balance while growing her business and how we should be unapologetically ambitious but at the same time, not compromise on our life outside the "shop" π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ§ββ
In other words, how to GO BIG & GO HOME! π₯π₯π₯

ππΌββοΈ I came across this fantastic quote on the weekend, and it resonated so much with me. We often focus on the solutions without properly understanding and defining the challenge.
π
Einstein believed the quality of the solution we generate is in direct proportion to our ability to identify the problem we hope to solve. πͺ
