New Zealand's Leading HAZCHEM Safety Specialists

We teamed up with Ansell to exhibit at the HASANZ Conference in Wellington last month. We had Ansell's chemical protective gloves and PPE on display, and it was great to see so many health and safety professionals stop by to try them on and talk through their challenges.
There was a lot of engagement and the questions we heard most were practical ones. Which glove or coverall suits which chemical? What should you look for when choosing PPE for hazardous substances? Exactly the kind of conversations we love having, coupled with live demonstrations of how some chemicals can harm our body, as well as how Ansell's gloves hold up against those chemicals.
Thanks to HASANZ and the organisers for an amazing event, and to everyone who came by to say hello!

Not all chemical gloves protect against the same things and the pictograms on the cuff are how you tell them apart.
There are three key chemical standards. EN ISO 374 rates how long a glove resists chemical breakthrough, with letters showing exactly which chemicals were tested. EN 374-5 covers protection from bacteria, fungi and viruses. And EN 421 covers radioactive contamination and ionising radiation.
Here's the part that trips people up: if a glove is missing one of these pictograms, it doesn't mean it failed the test. It means that hazard was never tested at all. A glove might handle acids beautifully but offer zero certified protection against the virus or the radioactive dust you're actually worried about.
Match the pictogram to the hazard. Every time.

New gear, new confidence 💪. Working with Snell, we recently kitted out the team at Industrial Sands with customised CleanAIR AerGO PAPR kits, upgrading them from P2 masks for their work around silica dust.
Because the team are in and out of forklifts all day, their AerGO setup includes harnesses, allowing the units to sit across their shoulders. This helps spread the weight evenly, ensuring comfort throughout a full shift.
We’re incredibly proud to provide customised solutions to get people exactly what they need. No guesswork. Just the right protection, fitted to the way people actually work.

We recently presented at Coca Cola during their Safety Day and ran a toolbox session on all things glove related. Cut resistance, chemical protection, what those little symbols on the cuff actually mean - all of it.
Most people have never understood their gloves properly. Once you know what you're looking at and truly grasp the level of protection you’re getting, it changes how you think about your PPE and your own safety, and that’s exactly what happened in this session.
Great morning, great questions, and a great crew. This is exactly the kind of stuff we love getting out and doing!

We had an awesome time and great engagement at the NZSB Expo. We went in prepared to make people a little uncomfortable, and it definitely worked in leaving impressions and getting our key messages across!
Our acetone demo showed just how quickly it can pass straight through a glove that looks fine on the outside. Our eggs versus caustic soda demo (protein reacting the same way your eyes would) got a few visible winces. And the Wheel of Death walked people through the real dangers behind eight common workplace chemicals, and what safety measures can be taken when handling them.
Alongside the demos, we had a strong lineup of gloves, coveralls, and respiratory on display, with plenty of good conversations about fit, chemical resistance, and what actually holds up on site.
Huge thanks to the NZ Safety Blackwoods team for hosting the event, and the Ansell team for joining us in exhibiting!

Another great visit from the team at Shigematsu (STS), who joined us on the road for customer visits in Wellington recently.
There's nothing quite like getting out from behind the screen and into the field with the people who make the gear we distribute every day. Customer visits, real respiratory conversations, and many laughs along the way – the true highlights of supplier partnerships!
Looking forward to next time 🙌

Different tasks often requires different respiratory protection, which usually means more masks or head-tops to buy, more parts to track, and more training to manage. However, the CleanAIR UniMask solves that by being one mask that reconfigures for the job.
With the UniMask, it's easy to change the visor, face seal, hood or head harness depending on the task or hazard. Every part is interchangeable and replaceable, so you're covered without needing a cupboard full of different respiratory gear!
Pair it with a CleanAIR PAPR system and the UniMask creates positive pressure inside the mask, making it more comfortable to wear for longer shifts while still delivering strong protection against airborne hazards.
The icing on the cake? It can be worn with beards, it’s not classified as a close-fitting respirator, and it doesn’t need fit testing. Less compliance admin, less time lost, same strong protection for your team. 💪

We are thrilled to welcome Bhagya, who just joined pH7 as an intern 🎉
Bhagya brings a solid background in process analysis and data management, and she has already hit the ground running from day one. We couldn’t be more excited to have her helping out across our marketing, sales, and operations projects over the coming weeks.
Welcome to the team Bhagya. We are so glad to have you here, and we’re ready to get your hands dirty!

This week we headed up to PGG Wrightson/Fruitfed's Kerikeri branch and participated in the spray season PPE showcase, and it had been a great morning! Good conversations with local growers about the gear that matters most this spray season - respiratory protection to guard against chemical inhalation, gloves to protect hands from pesticides and herbicides, and coveralls to keep skin covered during application.
We also did several respirator fit tests, because the right mask needs to fit correctly to do its job. It's always a highlight getting face-to-face with the people who use this gear every day 🙌
